Forza Motorsport 3 under way, release due 2009

Continually Updated Page

Forza 3 Update 9th July

We are currently working on two ventures or schemes with Forza 3. One is building what we term as The Ultimate Mid Priced OXCGN Forza 3 Cockpit which we plan on showing the construction over 2 – 3 installments. This will be aimed at true enthusists who can afford the space and gear needed, but not as expensive as some of the more elaborate systems out there.

The second is a Hands-On for OXCGN staff and my evaluation of the game in its current form. But until then, here’s the latest Forza 3 video dealing with the excellent coverage at Le Mans. If this video doesn’t make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up in anticipation, or bring a smile of glee or enthusiasm, then nothing ever will – enjoy.

Forza 3 Update 4th July

Not a great deal to share at the moment, other than the following screens and a video from Forzamotorsport net.

The screens show some older tracks which will be a welcomed return, as they provided some of the best close racing competition in Forza 2. Plus we have the inclusion of Le Mans of course. It is an excellent high speed track and will lend its self to some of the tried and proven vehicles of all time.

Sure, many are returns, but like all racing linage, many cars race for years before moving on, and in some cases, still race in current form. We should be pleased to see the addition of Le Mans, and the high speed monsters. It would be nice to see some of the other stablemates in there like the Courage etc, but we’ll have to wait and see what is in store for us as the months unfold.

With over 400 cars (with DLC packs expect to see in excess of about 450 cars in Forza 3) the numbers of different models is going to be high. While Forza 2 was “advertized” to have 300 cars, it shipped with 305 and by the time the various packs were released, had a stable number of 350 cars all up, including all models and makes.

With Forza 3 being greater than Forza 2, we can expect more, based on a similar delivery style as previous. It worked then, it’ll work again. Extending the playability of the game over many months after release. We have the return of the different R Class cars again, which are brilliant. For those who complain about them, sorry, but that IS what racing is about.

Pitting your equally powerful car against others, where only droving and tuning skills separate the better drivers. Not the size of your turbo or how much rubber you have on the road. The bullshit stops when the flag drops is the old saying, and it has always been proven to be quite true. So get over it, the R1′ through to the R4’s will be in there – again.

We’ll have the UGC (User Generated Content) taking front stage much more than in Forza 2’s art styles that were applied to vehicles. These puppies are very well detailed now, with a huge increase in definition, clarity and detail not only in the cars themselves, but the trackside and interiors. Personally I’ll not be looking at how good my ride is at 200mph, I’ll be more focused on the next 2 corners approaching rapidly at a huge rate of knots in cockpit view thank you very much.

forza 3 OXCGN #77 forza 3 OXCGN #76

We have not only an advanced paint editor, but the new Video Editor and areas that Turn10 have some special things planned in the area of UGC . . Ideally, OXCGN may get its hands on a disc soon, and will publish my own personal hands on with the game, and even do a hands on comparison with several other new titles coming up to see how they all rank . . .

In the mean time, enjoy the screens above and the video from Turn 10 which will be included shortly today.

Forza 3 Update 25th June

Not a great deal to report at the moment people, Tuurn10 and MS are keeping very mum right now on the Forza 3 front. We ‘almost’ had a Forza 3 event here in Sydney yesterday (24th June) but was canceled at the very last moment by Microsoft’s PR arm Pulse.

We were invited to attend, and were to be privy to some new info, but alas, the pin was pulled at the eleventh hour. But we did learn that they are planning something big here in Oz, and we’ll definitely be part of it. There are things a-foot, but we are not allowed to mention those at the moment.

So to help those of you who haven’t had a chance, here’s the latest Forzamotorsport 3 Podcast for your enjoyment all the way from Turn10.

Forza 3 Update 15th June

Forza 3 detailed update 8th June:

oxcgn forza 3 logoThis being probably one of the most hit pages for Forza on google, we like to keep everyone happy with as much ‘insider stuff as possible. Sure, we could just pop everything up like the rest do and claim it to be “news” . . . but we prefer to dig up stuff ourselves, or put our own personal twist on the news and details we present.

So with this update, we’ve combined with the Australian Xbox Team in LA who did this great interview with John Wedl, Content Director on Forza 3 with “Jinx” (ex-Fragdoll Ashley Jenkins) who is now XboxLIVE online manager for Xbox Australia. Yes we have even stolen an American Fragdoll – what next.

What’s in the vid?  Well some very interesting revelations and it’s worth listening to the whole interview as Ashley’s questions really get John Wedl opening up on paint customisation, how even novices will be able to enjoy racing, crash rewind and more. So read, listen and enjoy!

• NOTE: In the interest of saving space, we’ll be dropping our updates in separate posts now and criss-crossing them so you can surf between them. So to get the newest details, a great new interview with Turn 10 Content Manager, and 23 new screens, head over here right now.

Well I was “almost” right, October will see the release of our

Australian cars in Forza 3.

Plus the high likelihood of Aussie tracks. While not “Officially confirmed” regarding the tracks, it would be safe to say that his “can’t comment on that at the moment” yet saying that there are Aussie cars featured in Forza 3, does answer the question actually, but not officially.

Our OXCGN Affiliate, OzBoxLive grabbed this interview at the Forza 3 booth at E3 today and here it is for your listening and viewing  pleasure. More specific details to follow. And yes, you’ll here it from him, we are getting a much more detailed Paint Editor in Forza 3, which as Mark points out in the interview, makes me an especially happy little vegimite.

Update 30-05-09

Well we’ve been told to expect something special at E3, and OXCGn has been “invited” to a “special meeting” with Microsoft reps at E3. They have four ’secret’ games to announce and by all accounts, Forza 3 will be one of the games “officially confirmed” yet 4 others wil be “New IP’s”.

In fact, our Top 10 and E3 Tips are going up tomorrow which list 10 games not mentioned before that are – “Exclusives” – so make sure you keep an eye out on the main page for the links for that.

Our team will be in the Microsoft Keynote on the 1st June, the day before E3 officially kicks off, and – they will have “Hands-On” time with the titles raised at the keynote.

Update 22-05-09:

Forza 3 Le mans

Le Mans included in Forza 3? Announcement due 12 - June - 09 after E3 Announcement !?

Forza 3 Le Mans Announcement 12th June 09:

Will Forza 3 include the famous circuit, and be announced on the 12th June, the day before the famous race? My educated guess is – YES. And it will be announce after the title has been “most likely officially confirmed at E3″!?

The 24 HEURES DU MANS is run on the 13 – 14th June, so the date on the image fits in perfectly with pre-race announcements.

Thanks to our affiliate lvl2gamer we have this neat image of the track with the date “save the date” embedded on it.

Well I can assure you, you WILL know about Forza 3 before the 12th June from – OXCGN. We have an appointment with MS when we land in LA on four “secrete games” to be announced during E3, and I’m 99% certain that Forza 3 is amongst those four titles.

I know that certain art assets have arrived at a Sydney firm for work to be begun on the release of “certain titles”. This usually has a 3-4 month lead up window before release, making it around the November period, which would fit in with my predictions of a Nov 11-12th Release date for Forza 3 (OXCGN’s prediction for release, not an official statement)

The Le Mans announcement will be to confirm that Forza 3 will have it as part of the itinerary for the game, and most likely an integral part of the games career mode . . most likely. That would be around 1 week after E3, which gives them plenty of mileage post E3, and a secondary boost after that to stretch it further.

All makes for good marketing stratergy actually.

It would make perfect sence to have it at Le Mans, giving the game 3 full days, including the day of the announcement, to be in the worlds eye. A perfect launching pad (excuse the pun) for the game, with E3 still hot on the gaming press, ensuring it further public (not gamer) notice.

Being a car nut and fan, I’d have my money on the track being included, and that it will be announced at E3 and at the pre-race events for Le Mans. But I’m not a gambling man, so don’t take me up on a prper bet – just yet.

OXCGN will be involved with some local (Aust/NZ) promotions for the game, whenever it is launched, which will be with a major Auto Show promotor here in the Asia Pacific region. SO stay posted for that as well.

The race was made even more famous in 1971 when actor and racing driver Steve McQueen debut the race in a rather dry but action packed movie called, Le Mans. If you want some old thrills and spills, get it out for nostalgia.

Rest assured, OXCGN will be up to its elbows in grease with Forza 3. RIghtin there wiyth the promotions, news and competitions – Oh, I didn’t mention the OXCGN Forza 3 Competitions – did I !? Damn.

More on that in the next uodate.

Update 11-05-09:

This IS the Offical Forza 3 Logo

This IS the Official Forza 3 Logo

Naturally we’ll be under embargoes, so please – no pestering about getting the news early. We’ll post it LIVE using Cover-It-Live, so when you see that up on the main page come June 1st (US time), then load it up.

Microsoft know we are the most hit-up Forza 3 page on the net each day. With thousands of eager fans hanging off the page each week. All just waiting for a small glimmer of news on Forza 3. Well I can tell you that they have taken note of that fact, and they will be “helping us” disseminate the information as quickly as possible.

My personal bet is that Forza 3 details will be one of the several games – as yet unannounced, that will be amongst the keynote on June 1. OXCGN will have a team there that will also be doing several “Hands-On” plays of the various games. One of OXCGN team members is a true Forza fan, and he’ll be reporting on any playable code that is made available to the press.

OXCGN has been pushing for this for some time, and as we have now mover=d to being the fastest growing Xbox site on the Net, and the biggest Xbox Community site in Australia, Microsoft have finally paid us some attention.

So rest assured, when we hear any printable news (no – we WILL NOT break any NDA’s for the sake of early views – so don’t even ask) then you’ll be reading it right here, and also in the OXCGN E3 2009 News pages, the OXCGN Live Podcast, and the OXCGN Cover-It-Live feed direct from the various keynotes and presentations over the week.

I know it’s not much, but it’s all I can share at this time, and rather than give you nothing, at least we can share that OXCGN has finally been given the opportunity to share the news with you all – officially.

So stay tuned, and early news we CAN print, you’ll get it as soon as possible here. Keep checking the Brazil video and I’m still waiting on some good and kind hearted gamer to translate the discussion for me. Simply email me with the transcript, and you’ll naturally get credited for it on the highest googles searched Forza 3 page on the net, OXCGN

Update 30-04-09:

If you have had your ear to the ground you would have heard that a Microsoft media conference in Brazil via it’s largest Forza community, PortalXBOX. While there they (Microsoft) unleased a little snippet of info on Forza 3, very small mind you, but you can catch the whole item here . . .

The guys at PortalXBOX whacked it up on YouTube and we grabbed it from there for all our Forza 3 loving fans.

Hope you can speak Portuguese. You’ll find it in at around the 6.58 mark or there abouts. If one of our kind Brazilian friends could translate the section, that would be great . .

Plus this IS the official Forza 3 logo that will adorn our next iteration

• Forza 3 Unofficially Announced? – well sort-of

done

• Update: 16-04-2009:

The news on Forza 3 has quietened substantially of late. A distinct sign that “something is brewing” inside Microsoft.

All enquires to the people I know have met with a blanket wall of silence, which does mean there’s an announcement due within a short period of time.

OXCGN is now the highest ranked Forza 3 destination of Google, it has over 700 – 800 Forza Fans logging in every day looking for information, and the post has almost 1000 comments in it, the lucky person to be the 1000th could well get a  treat as well. But that’s another story. OXCGN is now ranks 159,622 on Alexa globally and has just managed a Google Page Rank of 3/10 (on the lower scale, but getting there – 5/10 is excellent).

Aimed with this information, facts and statistics, OXCGN is running a very “outrageous proposal” to MS locally that could see us ideally being present when the news does break, or even something more grandiose – all going well. We want to bring you the loyal supporters of not only OXCGN, but the Forza Franchise as much new news as humanly possible, as fast as possible.

So be assured, that soon as we have ‘anything, no matter how small, or significant, this page will ‘ideally’ have it first.

Not Directly Forza 3 Related

But Car Buff stuff many Fans have been wanting in the next Forza 3: Rally Cars . . !?

oxcgn-ken_block

Great racers, but let's leave them in their own world, not in Forza 3 ?!

While it’s not Forza 3 related, it is about racing, which is something we all obviously have in common. So many of you have been asking for rally cars and off-road in Forza 3, which I ’seriously’ doubt will happen by the way, this will at least will ‘hopefully’ satisfy some of those cravings for the time being. The interview with world renowned Rally Driver Ken Block and his involvement in the next iteration of Colin Mc Rae: DiRT 2 is well worth watching. As I’m sure it will get some adrenaline going for those junkies that love jumps and ‘catchin-air’….

On big thing to remember is, that with excellent games like Colin Mc Rae: DiRT2, why would you want Forza 3 diluted with the addition of this sort of thing. Leave each genre to their own specific style. There’s no need to meld and change something that is obviously working really well. And inthe process, change the very thing that makes the game (Forza) so unique.

So in the meantime, please enjoy this interview until I have more news on Forza 3. And keep your eye out on that fastest car, if you can.

Everyone is always screaming for Drag Cars in Forza 3 . .Well, no drag cars in Forza 3, but how’s about the Worlds Fastest Street car, driven on Pump gas, and in street legal trim, right down to the cup holders, blinkers and everything elses needed for a street driven car, that does 6 sec 1/4 mile runs in standard trim.

worlds-fastest-street-carRod Saboury’s 1963 Corvette is a street-legal car that exceeded 210 mph at a track in Ohio. (Baltimore Sun photo by Lloyd Fox / November 24, 2008)

Going from zero to 60 mph in one second will make people stop and stare, but Rod Saboury need not drive his 2,400-horsepower, twin-turbo-charged Corvette that fast to grab attention.

Sometimes, the Millers resident and National Hot Rod Association driver cruises along Carroll County’s streets or pulls up into a McDonald’s drive-through, and then heads turn – fixated on the Corvette’s dragster-engine sound, fire-red exterior and hot-rod designs.

“It’s like driving a UFO on the highway,” says Saboury, 58, whose 1963-model Corvette is widely regarded as the fastest street-legal car on the planet. The car so impressed the editors at Super Chevy magazine that the 35-year-old publication named Saboury’s Corvette as its inaugural Car of the Year in its February issue.”

NEW Forza 3 Item of Interest

Click for full sized view of box art

Click for full sized view of box art

Could this be the cover art for Forza 3?

Or a well executed and cleverly designed piece of work by a budding design artist?

Found this while on the scrounge around the net yesterday looking for anything Forza 3 related and it seems like a decent attempt at a solid looking covert art for the game.

Sure, it’s by an artist, but who’s to say such artists impressions are not taken up by various development studios and Publishers alike. Certainly looks the piece ad reflects what Forza 3 is all about, especially when you read the description on the back.

NewsFlash:

Check out our Team OXCGN Racing page, new NFS: Shift screens that will blow your mind. No more mister nice guy . . . this is pure racing style and visuals to boot.

I have a gut feeling this game will be along the same lines as GRiD from Codies and will have even more redeeming qualities for racing fans.

While some might not believe the art is in fact Official, I thought it best to put the source and the design studio responsible up in this update so as to keep Forza fans informed.
As you can see Kaarbo Design have been retained to do work for many studios and have done the work for Forza 1, and as you will see from the screen shot, have Turn10 on their client list, with Forza 3 art as part of their current portfolio.

Yes, very Official Forza 3 Artwork!

If you slip over to Kaarbo Design, you will also see a significant amount of Microsoft Xbox Division XboxLIVE art and video sequences that they have done. Some which is rather stunning actually.

Just trying to keep the information up todae and as clear as possible.

Update 2 Jan 09:

post_forza_posters

Here’s the various “Official” stylized poster art for Forza 3 . . .

We are currently compiling an article on Forza 3, which will be a stand alone item separate to this post here, so as soon as it is completed, the link will be placed at the top of this post, as well as all major gaming news portals.

It seems there will be ‘around the 400 – 450 cars in this line up, which is around 100 more vehicles than Forza 2 has after all the downloadable content packs are included. Which will be just ‘nice’, as personally I can NOT see the benefit of having 900 – 1000 odd cars in a racing game aimed at being a simulator. But that’s just me.

Most of the major tracks will be included, and once I have any firm details on these, you’ll be the first to know about it. An internal contact I have is heading to the US in January for discussion of promotional aspects of the game, which will then come into effect probably in Feb. Meaning that the game will most likely see a late 3rd quarter release . . . which will be a few months prior to the ‘expected’ release of Sony’s GT5 in December (Christmas 09)

forza-3-poster-2 forza-3-poster-3

MSG and Turn10, who ARE doing this iteration, like to involve a great deal of pre-release hoopla and will ideally have the whole Forza Racing Team involved again doing Real World Time Trials with the same cars that will be in the game. Much like they did with Forza 2.

Here in Australia, a major Auto Promotions company has been contracted and will be involved in a series of events prior to the games release, which will span several months and much $$ and competitions. So stay tuned, no puyn intended, and trust you enjoy the poster art. We may have some official art up for grabs at some stage, as we have contacts with the design studio doing the Australian versions of the art for all mechandise and posters etc.

More Forza 3 news as it happens, and a new article to appear on the site dedicated to just current ‘facts’ on Forza 3, not some “Wish List or features”. So please keep your eyes peeled for that – soon, and hit that RSS feed button right now to stay in touch with events as they take place.

• You can also check out OXCGN’s Forza 2 Vehicle Image Page for a look ate many custome paint jobs carried out by the author. Well worth a view if you enjoy “Custom Paintwork”

UPDATE: 14-Nov-08:

Well people, I’ll be bringing you some VERY good news soon, can’t say too much now, but soon as I can, I’ll be letting you know, suffice to say my “predictions” have born fruit, and we will see Forza 3 in 2009. We will be having some comps based around it, some special events for Australian based gamers and be able to bring you all up-todate information as it happens.

We’ve been working on getting more information for you from MS, as this is the hardest hit url on Forza on the net now. And we owe it to our supporters to keep you updates as we get news to-hand. I can’t say anything specific, but from what I have heard, you’re all in for an ‘amazing’ experience come Forza 3 release time in 2009.

So on with the “wish list” . . . you can wish as much as you want, but I’m sure the guys at MS have nailed down the number and types of cars that will be in Forza 3 – around the 400+ mark I believe (with more via additional Downloadable packs etc). They have most certainly been reading your comments, and many other Forza 2 supporters comments from around the world, and you’ll notice some of those comments and wishes come true in the next iteration I’m sure.

So once I ‘can’ give you more details, you will most certainly get it here FIRST. So stay tuned and I’ll try to squeeze more info out, yet not give away the game all together. That wouldn’t be much fun now, would it. Tell your friends, spread the url and site around, and we’ll keep you well informed.

Well for those who doubted my comments after Forza 2 was released, where I stated that Forza 3 would be coming along in ‘roughly’ 18-24 months – It does seem that Turn10 ‘may’ have the reigns yet again, but details are sketchy at the moment . . . with news coming from Surfer Girl Reviews Star Wars soon. Yes, that’s the name of her blog – work it out with her . . .

1643504176_11e43c2614_o.jpg

Click the image for XboxOZ360’s Flickr stable of cars

Naturally I’ll be watching this with baited breath, as it’s a game that has got me by the ’short-n-curlies’ that’s for sure. So keep posted, and as news comes to hand, you’ll be the first to know, well perhaps not THE first, but you get my point.

Update:

Here’s an “extensive” Forza 3 Car Wish List put together from one very dedicated guy over at Forzamotorsportnet forums, “Drows” follow the “read More” for the FULL listing.

Plus, what is it that you’d like to see in Forza 3

- hey, that rhymes . .

Some of the things on my Forza 3 Wish List are as follows . .

• First and foremost:

Keep the entire game as a SIM, okay Turn10 . . . !! Do NOT do a Codies on us and turn the game into an arcade abomination. If you do, you’ll loose almost all of your dedicated and loyal fan-base who enjoy building, tweaking and racing the cars on real-world tracks with real-world cars. That IS a certainty . . . just like we know the sun comes up in the morning, if you change the concept of the game now, you’ll loose fans big time.

NEW UPDATE-Addition #3 (23-02-08)

1965671278_dbe098a2f9_o.jpg 1642628777_6b034573de_o.jpg

#3-1 • Ability to upgrade a car when choosing to Download a Vehicle Settings from another Driver’s settings in Career Mode.

One of the biggest bug-bears I find is having to go through a list of upgraded options when you donwnload a vehicles Settings off Forzanet from another drivers vehicle. Selecting, de-selecting various options and upgrades so that t he car is identical to the one the settings apply to

How beautiful would it be, if when we Downloaded the settings, it would automatically choose to give you the “Option” to enable those Upgrades (provided we had enough credits naturally) as well as disable those upgrades we may have fitted earlier, which then simply adds them to our pre-purchased upgrades list for that car. To install at some other time when we needed.

This would eliminate a huge trial and error that is currently the case, especially around wheel, tyre type/compound, width and makes. As these are simply generically listed as Upgraded tyre, type/compound, width, size etc.

#3-2 • A Scalable or Self-Ramping AI that adjusts itself to the current Users abilities.

Currently there are 3 simple Difficulty levels, 2 of which as basically useless on the lower settings (unless racing inthe upper skill levelssuch as R series, where all cars are the same performance levels, and can prove a decent adversay, especially in High Difficulty.

If there were say 5 levels, and also the ability to turn of as an “Option” – scalable/ramping difficulty that went about the normal Highest level. Similar to that availabel in the TOCA series under Custome Difficulty.

Where you can go as high as 125% difficulty. Which definitely ups the anti when racing AI. This would help those of the Forzanet groups practice against some worthy opponents so that they are more skilled when it comes to decent on-line competitions, learn to work with real, hard, want-to-win AI, rather than an AI that you rarely see unless you are overtaking them on the last few laps.

#3-3• In Pit Stops, add ability to fix simple body damage that affect arodynamics:

When we pitstop, we can add a full tank of fuel, new tyres and fix suspension, but what about those all important arodynamics, that actually DO play a role in how a car behaves on the track.

Something as simple such as the “quick-fix body repair option” that enabled the repair of Rear and front airdams as they would normally in a race situation. They could even make this “visually” different, with the addition of Gaffer/duct tape over the offending areas on the front. Much like in the real races.

#3-4 • Custom Races in SP-Career:

Of what a blessing it would be if we could set up races, or a “Series” in SP-Career using High Difficulty AI that incorporated different Classes and tracks so we could fashion a Series that went across a variety of degrees of difficulty, rather than being stuct at a maximum of 6-8 laps all on one Class setting.

Not a Map Editor, as we shouldn’t be able to adjust Real-world tracks, as that’s not what they are designed for. And the game isn’t PGR3/4, but a semi-sim with real world tracks. But give enthusiasts the ability to set up a Home-Grown Series, similar to what is available in say TOCA 2 and TOCA 3 (V8SC’2 and V8SC’3).

We could save these setting and Series, so we could invite those on our Friends List to compete against each other over a Series, rather than single races on Live. This would benefit both XboxLive and the SP-Career mode as well. Giving the SP-Career Mode much more re-playability and likewise with Live.

#3-5 • AI Bots on Live:

With some lobbies not being able to fill all positions quickly, it would be great if there was an option to add a few AI Bot driven cars, choosen from the AI Drivers list, which also had a decent difficulty level allocated to them, depending on the skill of those real-life competitors.

Again, adding even more playability on Live, more races, higher use of Live and greater competion, especially if the AI was Scalable/Rampable and adjusted its self up, or down, according to the players difficulty level exhibited in the race.

2279597536_5e21caa7c9_o.jpg

#2-1 • A much better car selection option:

The current long line of cars on screen creates havoc with the games ability to read each car and display it. You can’t skip into classes, or make quick selections, which makes any type of vehicle selection a right pain in the butt.

They need a similar Pit or Race Garage mode to say what is offered in PGR3 that allows you to move cars around into garages to suit different classes, as well as have an area to store those cars you wouldn’t be seen dead in. Offering some choice over where YOU place the cars you have tweaked, painted and regularly race with, so you have instant access to them, without the need to scroll through the entire list of 300 cars to getto the one you want, and, face the possibility of it freezing on you in the process.

Sure, you can add a car to your Favourites List, which places the cars you most like at the front, but if you have an extensive stable of vehicles, it’s still basically the same . . .

Out of all the things on the game, this is my pet hate. It’s the only thing that continually freezes my 360, and you can really hear it crunching the data when you scroll through the cars. Come on Turn10, you can give us something better – please.!

#2-2 • More interaction with crew during pitstops:

Which I believe would add some realism to it and have a Timed pitstop based on damage done to the car, not just a basic full repair and fuel like it currently is in one set time. Much like the various F1 games around. After all, it IS a sim isn’t it. Plus adding some more pit-crew members nd items in the various garages would add to the static pics , as coming in for a pitstop and seeing empty garages, with one guy standing in it is somewhat disappointing. A little thing I know, but one that could add some immersion into the game.

#2-3 • The ability to add DLC to the Career Mode

Rather than just use the tracks they (Trun10) ask us to pay for only in non-competitive races with “yourself” in Time Trials and Free Race mode – Sorry Turn10, that’s boring as bat dropping.

#2-4 • Rear View Mirror in Bonnet Mode:

At least a decent Rearview mirror which IS available in one flying carpet view mode could easily be implemented into the No-The-Bonnet View mode. Not a huge thing to ask for . . or is it . . . ?

#2-5 • A better and more detail Windscreen View Mode

rather than the “just” the on-bonnet view mode would ad a great deal more depth into the game. I understand the huge task it would take to model all the 300 plus care for an interior view, but as decent view-point closer to the windscreen would only require a little bit more car modeling for the designers point of view.

#1-1 • Bring Back The Drag Events properly at the CopperHead Test Track

They were awesome in Forza 1 and there’s a huge following in the Forzamotorsportnet forums that have “unofficial” drag races organized. So the addition of the mode would be definitely welcomed by many

These are just a few items I’d like to see, and I’ll update it as I work on more . . do you have any ideas as to what could be “sensibly” included into the next iteration of the hugely successful Forza Motorsport Franchise . . ? and I mean “sensible – okay . . .

#1-2 • Better Replay abilities in the SP game.:

Currently, the replay and fast-forward/reverse function of the game is terrible . . . A simple speed-fast-forward is all that’s needed. As presently, it chooses where it will fast forward to, and you have no control over it as to just where you want it to stop, other than playing through the entire race section by section. Something along the lines of PGR Series replay system would be great . . .

#1-3 • FULL Mirror effect in the Decal Manager/editor:

Currently, any decal or paint you do on one side, can not be mirrored exactly onto the other dise of the vehicle. Strips come out backwards or upside down. There’s a rough work-a-round for it, but a Mirro Side A to side B would save HEAPs of time and allow those creative types more control over their masterpieces. And some of them are true masterpieces.

#1-4 • More layers in the Paint Editor – Please:

While we though 100 was great in Forza 1, and that 1000 was brilliant in Forza 2, double that in Forza 3 would just be insaine, and allow some really detailed creations. Plus the additions of more various shapes and decals wouldn’t go astray. Plus the ability to perhaps create your own shapes freehand somehow . . ?? Or import Photoshop files. But that has issue with regards to various Copyright issues, so that probaly won’t be considered, but it would be nice.

#1-5 • Additional Real-World Tracks please;

Some were missing from Forza 2 that were well received in Forza 1, all real-world “Race Track” . . .some perhaps some more older ones could make a reappearance, and one or two newer ones. I know Blue Mountains was popular, even if it was wrongly mapped btw, so if you do include it, please get it right this time. Or say Surfers Paradise, Eastern Creek and Phillip Island. As these tracks see international races throughout the year, not just V8 Supercars races.

add trucks like chevy 2500 and ford 250 , Add the mustang bullit, and a make a in side view of the car.

Also off road racing with the trucks would make this game the best

Good job you’rejoking mate (?) as the LAST thing Forza 3 needs is Trucks and mud racing. The game is NOT aimed at those sorts of things, nor should it ever be.

There are games aimed at that genre, and they should remain in that domain, like Pure, and others of its ilk.

Leave Forza 3 fror “racing” vehicles that use circuits and liceinced vehicles, and leave the Need FGor Speed Nitro, Arcade, Burnout, Pure etc etc to their own. Do NOT try and put everything in one game, all you do is ruin it.

i have one question after watching the preview did they decide to bring down the physics realism so the game is easier or are those cars just really good drivers of course i know that they are not really driving

one thing i think they need to improve some how
the game docent give you the fealing of how fast you are going maybe blur or something to help give you the feel that you are doing 150 MPH not 65

The physics have been improved greatly, and I’m not sure which vehicles you’ve been driving and on what tracks or at what level of difficulty, but plonk you bum in one of the R2 Porsches and do the 5 laps of The Ring, and you’ll change your tune about the realism and speed, trust me on that.

The game will have the ability for no-brainer style driving, but also cater for the core forza fan by offering the best physics they can deliver, right down to tyre wall flex, what changes that makes to a cars weight transfer and dynamics that brings.

Did you know that the Chev racing team in the US use Forza 2’s physics and live feed to work out tyre and suspension setting for racing their cars, seeing how hot and where that heat is applied to each tyre while cornering?

If it’s good enough for them, then any gamer that complains about it, simply is not sing it to the best advantages.

BUt do get into the R2 Porsches, do the enduro ‘Ring and then come back with your experience mate, would love to hear from you after that!

Adding trucks would detract from what the series is aimed at, real-world-sports-car-racing. Trucks and their ilk are best suited for games such as NFS, Burnout, DiRT and NASCAR . . . all of which are not what this game is aimed at.

While it would be ‘interesting’ to add “specific” on-road versions of “Sports-Trucks” Utes etc, big rig trucks would not suit the game, IMO.

The biggest downside to adding full interior views is the shear amount of detail required for a HUGE stable of cars, with each one having a different interior view required.

Th assets of which would add up to a huge amount of disc space, let alone actual 3d work for the artists concerned. A good placement for a windscreen-cam could be a happy compromise, allowing a higher and longer nose shot, with more on-car detail up front, but not have to include each cars interior view.

I “love” the interior views on racing games, DiRT and PGR3/4 are excellent examples of this, but both have a relatively small stable of cars in comparison to what Forza2 and even Forza 3 may have in the future.

Yes you are a little bit right but you dont want a game that gamers fix to meet their own wants in the game. example forza 2 when the gamers changed their cars for drifting and dragging. And yes making the inside view of the cars might be a little bit much, only if they put in a crap load of cars.

  7. xboxoz360, on March 10th, 2008 at 11:02 am Said:

With regards to the spoilers, there is currently various spoiler kits available for different models of cars that are produced and sold in the automotive market. So they’ll only be offering “factory” options or aftermarket options, not self customization options. As that then changes the look of the vehicle beyond what the manufactures will allow.

It’s why aftermarket manufactures pay hefty licensing fees for.

The aim of the game is it fit in with the various styles of racing, and Forza 1 had drags at the Copperback test fields, and there’s a huge community that supports that in Forza 2, as well as the drifting genre’. So I don’t see them changing at all.

I’d hate to see the inclusions of such things as truck races, off-road racing etc. as this takes away from the bone-basics of what Forza is about, race track racing at its best.

Different style of racing, leave those to the games such as WBK and MOTOGP, as they deal specifically with bikes and their handling characteristics, which differ a great deal from cars. Be a night mare to mix the two, as each would require a dedicated physics engine aimed at each area.

Remembering it’s not aimed at being an arcade game, but a semi-sim or close to a sim as consoles will allow.

yes it would be different from the old forzas but that would let players have more freedom. and the players that get bored easy ( me and my clan) we will find a way to drift with them.

    please add

    the 08 ford mustang bullitt,

what would be nice is to have more races available to more cars in SP, i mean, some cars if you do them up, even not all the way, still have no viable SP race they can go in.

also fuel loadouts would be good, if it affected weight and handling.

    mechanical failures?

sorry, but i like full sims, so to have these as an option would truly round out this game nicely.

I like real sims as well, and prefer them to the arcade style of racers we see so many of. They all become so samey really . .

If Turn10 offered some aspects as a sim-option as well as having a basic driving mode, where it was easier for the ‘average’ driver, they could pick up two distinct areas of followers.

The main hassle I have with arcade-drivers is their constant desire to bugger other peoples races by doing damn stupid things. Whereas those who take it serious, ie; those still interested in the game this far out of release, like to race competitively with each other, or with a ramped up AI for those times when Friends are not about.

As mentioned in the list above, a steady growing (ramping) Ai would be great, one that went over the 100% mark, much like in the last two iterations of TOCA (V8SC’s 2&3), where AI Difficulty could be ramped up to 125% which was bloody scary at time, especially when you enabled full-sim.

Codies have gone by the way of arcade now, and making basically a PGR clone, while great to look at, it’ll be nothing lik etheir past efforts as fdar as serious racing is concerned. But I do understand their reasoning, as sim’s have a much smaller audience than arcade races do, but, Sims have a much longer standing audience which stays with the series, keeping the game alive well after the initial few weeks or month or so from its release.

Even now, Forza 2 and Forza 3 rank really high on just this meager site in daily visits, some days it can be our highest views. All from dedicated Forza sites or forums. The Forza community is well over 2 million strong and growing, and I certainly hope Turn10 do not go the way of Codies, as they will certainly lose a great deal of their fan-base, that’s for sure.

It doesn’t have a release date as yet, but there is suggestions it will be early in 2009 (as indicated in the articles heading) . . .

Turn10 may also take over the reigns of MS’s PGR franchise, so if that is the case, they will be doing both Forza3 and PGR5 . .but that is something that has not been confirmed one way, or the other. Simply conjecture at this point.

I dont want to sound obsessive, but no car game apart from GT4 has had an accurate transmission (mercedes has rolling shifts along with the prius and other cars). I want to see real kinds of transmissions and an auto that does kickdowns like a real car, not an auto that holds it in the optimal gear the whole time. Also, some diesel cars/trucks would be cool, and SUV’s like in PGR2.

Yes, you can, as you get into the later phases, you will be using all the R Class cars from R4 through to R1, Plus the two Classic Supercars, the Ford400 GT and the Ferrari P333, both of which HAVE to be run sans any mods at all, and The Ring with them is a right pain in the arse . . . it will take you several attempts and many crashes to get around the track twice in order to finish the series to move onto the final series.

The whole game can be played with cars as they come, just pic the ones that have the best handling rather than the ones with the highest horsepower, or Speed rating . . Speed isn’t everything, cornering and braking is the winning formular in racing.

Only thing I woul dfiddle with is tyre pressure, as this can change the handling of the car a little. convert the game to PSI/MPH not metric, an dyou can get a finer tune on the tyre pressure . .

By default they are set at 30psi F/R . .change it to ‘around 26- 28 Front, and 25-28 rear . . . depending on the drive of the car, Front wheel has lower rating, rear wheel drive has a lower rating for the rear, all wheel drive has them equal or slightly softer on the front.

If you want some tuning tips, feel free to send me the cars details, the class you’re racing and I’ll suggest the best “stock car for the class, or what small mods you could make to help you use the same car through several classes, so that you get to know the one car and continue to win with it.

As an example, not sure if I have apic of my Golf R32 up on Flickr, but you can run that as it looks from C Class right through to U Class, and when in U Class, it can have an acceleration setting of 10/10, which gets it off the line and away from other cars faster than you can say whoosh.

You won’t be disappointed with the game, and remember, if you need pointers or tips, or see a car in my flickr pages you like, I can always sell it to you and recommend the mods and setting so that it handles as best it can. The Lexus Police 360, Lexus Ambulance Chase etc are excellent cars to play with in several classes.

This game needs a lot of things. It needs a better way of rewarding drivers for wins. It needs more cars and a larger variety of cars. Xbox live needs to be more user friendly. This game suffers from a lack of interesting tracks. That is my biggest problem overral are the pretty dissapointing tracks. I hope they continue to improve and Forza 3 stacks up as the Best racing sim out there. But I have a feeling that the next Gran Tourismo is gonna blow it out of the water…

Hey driverS, i share your pain on a few things you have mentioned.

There is a lack of interesting tracks and down the track when you get to the latter of races you get very bored of the track as you have done it many many times before.

I’m overly happy with the way they reward players, discounts from going up a car or driver level. Cars and extra money for winning a tournament race. Discounts on car parts and also cars. That to me is enough of a reward.

Of course GT5:Prologue will be better as it has had more time in development to be honed to perfection. There is no doubt about that, but there is something about GT that just makes it a tad more boring to race. I remember playing GT3 on PS2 and after a while i got really bored of it. Mainly for the fact i was never winning enough money to even buy on upgrade for my car, everything felt much slower that Forza2. and the handling was utterly hard.

I don’t understand though about GT5: Prologue and GT5 ? Why are they making a prologue and not the next entry to the game.

As for Forza3 mate im sure Turn10 have something cooking up there sleeve to offer a much better experience in all aspects of Forza2. It’s just the waiting game for now.

@ driverS, So how would you reward drivers then. Currently you get decent amount of $$ (credits), You get discounts from various suppliers, which certainly helps when getting parts and tunning vehicles, which IS what the game is about, and helps the sponsors of the game, without which the game couldn’t be made.

You get 3 levels of difficulty approvals, which adds up to a heck of a lot of races in different classes etc. You get rewarded with new cars when you reach certain levels which you CAN’T buy, as these are unlocked and awarded to you. So outside all that, what else could you get . . ?

More cars, there’s over 340 cars when you download all the packs, that one hell of a lot of vehicles to race, tune and enjoy. Many of which are race style vehicles or current Sports versions of Street Driven cars. There’s even an array of 2008 model vehicles just been released incl the Audi R8 which is an absolute stunner.

Personally I think there’s way too many cars already for a “race Sim” . . . This isn’t Need For Speed, or PGR, it’s along the lines of TOCA or V8SC’s series. A Race Track based racing game, NOT a street racing get away from the cops racer. GT5 is to have 900 cars . what the hell for . . With Forza 2 there’s over 340+ cars from 44 manufactures, from 9 different countries.

What’s the point in having 900 vehicles if 80% of them are daily hacks . . if Forza trimmed out around 50 – 60 of the current stable, and added say just another 30 – 40 vehicle of some stature, there’d be more than enough to keep you satisfied.

Tracks, are fine, but we simply need more racing track, like Le Mans, perhaps some of the Australian and NZ tracks, A few from Europe etc. NOT street races through London and the back streets of Sydney. That takes the game away from its roots as a Race Sim, to a genre’ which it is not trying to be . .

And withbeing bored or tired of the sam eold track, there’s heaps or tracks and different section sof the same race circuit . . You DO realize that in real life racing, the aim is to memorize every little spec of that track, so you know EXACTLY when you can turn in each different car, as each one handles, and performs differently and will not do the same things on the same track as another car will.

DO real world racers get bored from seeing the same track over and over and over again, sure, but the ART is in mastering it . . Treat it like a Zen state, know when, where and how you can turn and at what speed, then you’ll know your way around it perfectly. Which should be your aim . .Not the fact your aced around it a few times and won a level . . You know how many times I’ve raced Road Atlanta, WAY too many, yet I’m only now becoming so familiar with it, i can turn before the corner, knowing where the car will end up on the way out. That’s what “racing” is about.

We certainly do not need dune-buggy races, Super Truck races, Desert races or hill climbs and Rally Championships, as that again isn’t what Forza is about. There are plenty of racing games out there covering those genre’s already.

If they try and cover all aspects of racing, the while game play gets diluted, the physic have to take a knock on as they can’t devote the system to dealing with so many cars in such detail and also make it a good racer at the same time. Corners are cut, which is why we see mediocre racing games with huge stables of cars or trying to cover way to o many disciplines in one game.

GT5 might well be a great looking game, and have a HUGE amount of cars, but it certainly is NOT a racing SIm by any stretch of the imagination. A sim denotes a sense of realism in many areas related to racing, Such as full damage, not just small cosmetics, full ability to tune suspension, engine, and drive train. GT doesn’t allow these things, as they ‘claim’ that the cost is too great to get approval from the manufactures, yet Forza has their approval from everything from Mazda to Masserati . . .and that’s no mean feat I can tell you.

As Masserati won’t even let you BUY one of their cars unless THEY approve you and show them you can actually drive the car. You have to pass their tests, even if you had 3 million to pay for one, they still wouldn’t sell you one. Yet they have given Forza (Turn10) permission to show their vehicles in various states of damage from small scratches, to total damage.

Do you see Diesel Trucks racing alongside full blown racers, or competing in race events with other cars . . It would mean introducing a whole new racing class with its own physics and tuning. Which would only bog down the game when they need to be opening it up.

If trucks were meant to race vehicles, they’d have races for them in the major circuits . .They don’t as far as I know . . . Nice idea for a street racer game, but Forza isn’t about street racing, it’s about competitive circuit racing . .

@ Phil Hey mate, which view do you always race/drive in . . .When in the Bonnet Cam view, I can definitely tell the difference between going up gears and deceleration in gears and also goiing back gears, and especially so if you flick on the rear view (Y) for a second, and it’s as if you’re looking out the window, and sounds a great deal different.

Give it a try. Many of the Turbo’d cars sound different, with gates closing and dumping gases etc, while the ‘whine’ or the ‘chargers is there.. Newer chargers can sound rather quiet in comparison to the older “jimmy’s” that frequented many a high-horsepowered rig in the past. As the newer ones do have to pass both sound and fuel exhaust emission laws. So the sound is a lot different now.

Definitely agree with a higher level of visual damage, butthen, they need to draw a line somewhere, as if they up one area of the cars, then they may well have to drop other areas. It’s a fine line with the huge amount of detail and physics involved in just what they have now, let alone greater damage modeling.

Plus there may well be ‘certain’ limits the manufactures will allow their vehicles to be damaged to. I can’t see Masserati allowing you to completely trash their cars more than they are able to do now.

Even now, if you are T-boned, you basically can’t race anyway, as the sides and suspension are shot, and there’s little likelihood of even completing a race, let alone being of any sort of competition to those left on the track.

I do however believe that NPC’s (AI controlled) vehicles, if damaged, should also suffer the same fate as your car. SO if it was totaled, then it should be allowed to role to the side of the track and stay there.

Butt hen, you suffer the possibility of ’some’ gamers going around and purposefully righting off all the other cars so as to simply finish a race. Which is not what the game is really about..

I will check out those vids though, thanks for the links . . You might want to check out my new Desert Storm Lambo on Flickr and the to in the Forza 2 page on this site.

In my opinion GT4 was a great driving game, really awesome but definitely lacked the sense of speed that forza has and also the damage physics. but hey one day they might get it right. also you can tweak the suspension on GT4 like mad dude I used to spend days tweaking a single car and I can tell you something the little things make a big difference.

@ Matt Yes, they are ones I was looking at, and I’ll add those mentioned above into the list that others have mentions.

However, I think that is Turn10 started to introduce too many different classes, styles and types of vehicles, bikes, genre’s of race vehicles, they would have to make far too many sacrifices in way too many areas.

It could well become a game of far too much of everything, and master of none. Right now it’s definitely master of console racing, without a doubt. As with over 2 million users still on board playing the game this far after release. It shows a huge sup[port for what it is RIGHT NOW, let alone what it will be come Forza 3.

While bikes might be “fun” their physics are completely different, as are karts, midgets and trucks, whereas cars as a whole have a different physics. Add that to the extensive tuning available now that has to be at least kept as is, and hopefully improved upon, can you imagine what resources would be needed to include true physics for all those other race genre’s . . .way too many to even contemplate.

That would be a great inclusion in Forza 3, but I know it could never have a proper 1st-person view with over 300 cars (currently Forza 2 has 340 odd cars from the original max of 312. Someone mentioned about not hearing the tubo’s and ‘chargers in the current game, I have played several games of Forza 2 lately with turbo’d and ‘charged cars, and when in the 1st-person on-bonnet mode, you can definitely hear the different noises associated with each type of bootser.

As in the on-bonnet mode, you can definitely hear the different engine noises, including the wheezing of the Turbos and whine of the ‘chargers, plus the clicking of the race gearboxes.

You can bump up the vehicle sounds in the setting as well, not sure if you’ve played around in there at all, try dropping the ambient noises such as music right down to a soft tone, take the other vehicle noise down a notch, and up your vehicles motor sound effects a notch or two.

    That should make a difference.

So the camera recognizes when there’s some “action” going on and focuses not only on the main car. I wish that there’ll be different exhaust systems from different manufactures for each stage of upgrade. So I would have several choices of exhaust notes for the same power outlet. Why not including an equalizer for the car sound. So one can mix the sound desired without making the car sound unnaturally. I’d also love to be able to colour the inner part of the rims and leave the outer ring silver/high polished. What would be great too, if I could use a heck spoiler of a Honda on an GM if I wanted. A map maker would be very difficult, given that all the current tracks are geographically correct right down to track surface gradients and banking . . each track has had so many pics taken of each square meter of them, they must feel like models in vouge magazine.

So having a map maker in such a game would be counter productive, and take away from the authenticity of it, making it nothing more than a simple arcade game. So yes, include newer real world tracks that may, or may not include “some cities” that already have races there, such as Surfers Paradise, Bathurst and Adelaid in Australia, and various ones throughout Europe and Nth America, even the east would be great as well.

I love the early muscle cars, and having them is great, any added inclusions would be most welcomed indeed. However, having full cockpit views on all cars would be not only a huge undertaking, but poss a great deal of pressure on developers to get the physics right for over 300 plus cars.

PGR3/4 does not have the numbers Forza 2 has, and making cockpit views for them, while being quite a task, isn’t as great a task as it would be for say 400 cars, each with their unique viewpoint. Games such as PGR and Colin McRae etc can get away with interior views, as the numbers pf cars are well below what Forza currentty has. And having the ability to change interiors on each car would be MAMOTH beyond your wildest dreams.

So while it sounds like a great idea, it would be almost impossible, and still have the game run true to its current form.

Dustin, we get a great deal of Forza traffic in here, so hopefully someone might see your car. It would help if you were a little more specific about what it is, what it looks like, the tracks you had it on, and roughly when you had it up. I know you said it was a 68 goat, but something a little more concrete would help

If you posted them through Forzamotorsport.net, the chances of them still being in your file are slim, as they are cleaned out regularly due to heavy server demand.

It would be advised to start up a simple free Flickr page, where you can have up to 200 pics, after that, you can register for a Pro Level for just $US25 . . which is definitely worth it in the long run. Even with all my cars, I only just had to go Pro in Flickr . . so that shows you how much you can store in there if you want. Plus you can do heaps with them, and have access easily.

yeah, I would like forza 3 to have like 450-500 cars then like gt5 with inside view with only 60cars. Forza 2 is great, but it would be nice to have more tracks. And i know this this is hard to do, but more body kits/upgrades would be great . I would like it if there were more production cars instead of super cars (enzos, mc12s). I really love the bmw’s, but theres not much to chose from and theres really isn’t tracks for them. Just some ideas.

    Wouldnt that be fun?!?!

That would make me buy Forza 3 even if it was £100 :¬]

Drag racing. I was surprised to see that there was no way to get a real peer 2 peer drag race. The copperhead test track has a drag strip and a christmas tree at the starting line. I would really like to see the guys and gals over at turn 10 to atleast try an icorporate a p2p system in Forza 3. It would make the drag racing realistic and it would also allow for tandem drift events as well.

For all the haters of drag racing, I don’t understand why you guys feel the need to shun drag racing from forza . If its incorporated into forza 3 why can’t you just stay away from the drag races all together? Just because a certain minority doesn’t want it, doesn’t mean that the majority of gamers should suffer.

i don’t what to be mean, but i think the majority doesn’t want drag racing and the minority does. I just don’t see the point, in real life, who ever steps on the gas frist wins. How is this fun in a game? Sounds boring. just think, it would take 10 times longer to load the race then the race itself. Turn 10 should spend their time in more cars and tracks. If people want drag racing, they should buy a drag racing game. And as for bikes and trucks, thats just crazy, come on! Why not go carts and hang gliders too? This is a CAR game and it should stay that way.

1st off, drag racing is the shit and should definately be part of ANY racing game. You obviously don’t know ANYTHING about drag racing if you think the 1st person on the gas wins. There are several things to account for in a drag race. Forza 3 should have NOS, its something you can do to any vehicle that will make it go faster so why would you not allow it on a racing game!? I know its a track game but you can throw in 1000hp cars but NOT a small boost of NOS to spice up a race a little!? Make a no NOS option to keep it off if the h8ers don’t want it! Also throw in some actual DRAG slicks to give the RWD and FWD cars more of an edge over the AWD to make them more even and maybe even do a catwalk for the RWD’s. Oh and Superchargers need to have blowers for the musle cars, make em look mean!

I really think xbox live needs to be improved, it’s too plane with lists. And the auction house needs work, like a full screen of the car your bidding on.

Rims: it takes too long to pick out the right ones, going by name brans, i liked forza 1 style better.

music: I really am tired of the same songs over and over again, so i turn them off, i know in forza 1 you could play your own songs on it, which i loved.

Also add more muscle cars and make it so we don’t have to make the muscle cars look retarded with huge spoilers and stuff in order to make it the best. Also have more engine swap choices for the muscle cars. I would like an 80s 5.0 mustang, and a 1987 or 88 300zx turbo in the game as well. An earlies ninety generation prelude is good but a 97 prelude would be better. One last thing is that in addition to the 2007 shelby mustang gt500 put in the gt500KR. An even more powerful car.

Here’s what Forza 3 Needs in my Opinion…
    - Multiplayer – Online -
    – Forza 1 had times posted for your cars on each track when in garage, which gave you an idea of what car worked best for the track. Need to get this back in.
    – the ability to choose and disable 0ne or several cars from races in online career that are leader board cars or just dominant cars. Makes for better racing.
    – LIke to see some Nascar tracks.
    – Infineon – Watkins Glen – Bristol – Dover
    - Lap Selection
    – The option to be able to pick 1 to15 laps. Then 20 25, 30, 40, 50, 75, 100 and 150. 150 option would be great for the short traks, especially the nascar tracks.
    – The ability to transfer your forza 2 cars to Forza 3.
    – If the cars are the same in forza 3 as they were in forza 2, then being able to move your cars to forza 3 would be great..
    – Finally… Anything extra you can think of that makes the game even more true to life… Stay away from the arcade style of racing. I was a great fan of Toca 3 and GTR for PC. Toco’s concept of different styles of racing like open wheel etc would add such a cool dimension to Forza if it were possible to incorporate… Keep forza 3 true to it’s format, but adding an extra off to the side concept of toca with in forza would make it a true game to own.. ? Eitherway, I can’t wait for Forza 3 to hit the shelves…

I have managed to convert 2 of my friends to the 360 and they each have this game and after i showed them on the outline of how to take a turn and basically what to tune to my knowledge they absolutely love it now.

Every day at school we talk and talk about Forza2 and some races we done it is awesome.

I am happy with the game as it is. I have managed to spark a rivalry with brocko90 on Nissan Speedway for the R1 races. To see who can get a better time with me in the lead so far :) .

I have definitely grown in the racing of the game and have only now just realized and learned on how to turn properly while still going at a good speed to take the corner good.

Great to hear mate, so how about knocking some of the Career leaderboard times down as well . . . I capped a few the other day which got me down further in the Regional Series.

Oh, little tip for Nissan Speedway, Try lifting the tyre pressure a few pounds in the rear, as when the tyres get hotter, they grow more, and with more air in them, they grow a little further, and can travel a slightly longer distance due to the larger diameter . . Drop the front downforce so that you just maintain traction and you’ll pick up some speed . .

I think it would be great if the host could call a caution. The cuy in first would lead the caution to the start finish or the game would take everyone to the start finish to resume green flag racing.. The caution would be at the hosts discretion.. not the games… or option to pick between game or host to determine when a caution should be called. Or you could have a pace car lead the caution and anyone passing for position goes to the back of the pack… 12 to 16 players online would also be a blast as long as there was no lag…

i also agree with a post i read earlyer about the incorperation of mechanical failures and punctures. i reacon this would be a great option on the difficulty screen and if used properly like increased chance of problems if you mistreet your car on the curbs or red line the engine too often

Justin, I did mention it really early in the piece in the main text . . but not exactly like you have said, but very similar.

I’d suggest having a choice of 10 to 20 cars in afield, but asking for 20 is BIG task code wise trying to get every car was finely detailed as they are, as well as reflections, interactions etc etc. A filed of say 12 would be ideal.

Any bigger, and it puts many ‘casual’ racers off. So having a choice of say in Easy of just 8 cars, Normal say 10 cars, Hard with 12 and Expert with Custom selection up to and including say 15-16 cars.

PC games are more sim, and most of those are run by very sizable Gaming Rigs specifically built for such use. The console has to be uniform for all applications, so a balance has to be sought out. Not too heavy on the sim, not to heavy on the arcade, yet still be accessible for both casual and hardcore gamer alike.

    Make sense . .?!

As a reply to skeate’s comment awhile ago. Its dumb to waste game space buy having 20 different aston martions and 50 different TVRs. Just have the two(maybe three depending on the type of car) fastest cars and be done with it. Use the space to add a different variety of cars. Especially dustins favorite the 72 nova. I love that car too. More body kits and spoilers ar needed to. The only body changes you can do on older muscle cars make them look retarded. You should also be able to sup up an engine enough were the engin sticks out of the hood on muscle cars. That always looks nice. It also takes way to long to add vinyls and paint a car. As to the comment earlier I believe it could take 30hrs to work on one of the cars.

I think shifting with the right joystick would be sweet and if there was a clutch it would make it so hard but fun.

Nick, you can change gears with the right joystick . . simply go into controls, and controller, and you can change the type of set-up from default, and one includes the right stick I think, will check on that, but I’m certain it does, as I remember doing or trying it myself, but didn’t like it much, was as fast as using the B for upshift and X for downshift.

With vynils, many people enjoy spending the time making them, it’s about being creative and using your abilities to create something from simple basic elements (shapes etc).

If you can’t be bothered, or don’t have the time and or ability, then that’s what the auction house is for, so you can find the ones you like and buy them. Most of mine haven’t taken 30 hours, that’s for sure. Even Resident Evil 5 TVR speed 12 only took me around 12 hours all up.

Nobody has mentioned it but I would like aerodynamics to come more into play. Pro Street started on the whole aerodynamic theme but really didn’t get it.

Also, If we could when we are in a game put what we are doing before the person enters such as if I want to drift I would drift room.

A blank sheet for vynils would be nice(:

I would like it if we could adjust ride height more like drag cars. Instead of adding rim size add tire size.

1967 Shelby GT500 has been mty favorite car since I was four and I really don’t like the KR.

Someone mention previously only changing the rime color seperatly from the lip. I would love that because I loooooove black rims with silver lips and I can’t do it.

Drift tires would be kinda cool but I can go without.

Finally, cars should be able to do a wheelie more often. How does a 987 HP LS7 Chevelle not do a wheelie?

@ Alex Aerodynamics do come into the game, more than you think actually. If you spend time in the Tuning section of the car set ups, you’ll notice a huge difference when adding the Forza adjustable air-dams than using just cosmetic air-dams.

Changing those settings does have a marked difference on how a car handles, and can both increase/decrease lap times, as well as increase/decrease handling abilities. The stuff in Pro-Street is more cosmetic than actual aerodynamics . . it’s a “all smoke and mirrors” thing really.

I would also like to see a “visual” representation of vehicle height adjustment on the cars front to rear, but you CAN currently adjust both front and read heights independently, which both play a crucial role in how well the car behaves, you just don’t see it that visually other than when you do the main suspension mods in springs etc.

One this would be good would be to have different tyres for both front and rear, IF they chose to do a Drag section, as other than that style of racing, both front and rear tyres (outside indy.F! etc) most tyre setups are very similar front and rear.

If you check out the different tyre and rim settings, you can change BOTH right now, and the fronts and rear tyres are usually different and based on the vehicle being modified. And in Drag Cars, you need to be able to adjust the Tyre and Rim sizes, greatly, as your times rely on how fast the tyre expands and increases in diameter over the quarter mile (1320mts). So you need to be able to do both.

That is of course IF they chose to offer a Drag section of course . . ?? And a well set-up 1000bhp car should be able to launch without a wheelie . . otherwise you’re wasting valuable seconds i]on your time, which is NOT what a racer wants.

    @ Jake

We really appreciate everyones contribution on here, but one of our TOU and COC is that people use correct English as much as possible.

I’ve found that if you write something using techsp33k etc, then many simply do not bother reading past the first few words, as it makes it extremely hard for the mind to actually work out, especially on the net/computer.

I’ve removed your earlier post to keep space in tact, and your recent one is fine, so thanks for correcting that . . it was most appreciated indeed.

On your issue though . . . I’ve dedicated around 300 odd hours to this game, on Hard as well as normal . .And it really doesn’t take much for both you and your AI opponent to spin out.

The aim isn’t to cause crashes, or to knock your opponent out of the race, that’s definitely un-sportsmanly conduct in the extreme, even if it’s against AI.

Some have complained about the AI being stubborn and hard to beat on HARD, it can be, but that’s the aim of it in the first place. If it was ‘easy’ then it wouldn’t push you to try harder, look at how you ‘race’ and keep “the line” – as that’s where you want to be, not off-line knocking someone else off because they are in front of you.

Try looking at how you are progressing, if you’re on Hard because you think you need to be, but have yet to do the game to any great length, do yourself a favour, and turn it back to “Normal” setting. It get harder as you progress up the ladder, so that when you do eventually go back to the “Hard” setting, you’ll know how many of the cars handle, and how each track has it’s brake and acceleration points, so you can take advantage of them

If done right, you should be able to get through a solid race without using your brake all the time. Go into the Arcade section and do some time trials against yourself, you’ll improve no end, and notice where you’re making the mistakes, and thus improve.

    @ Dustin
I think what you’re describinghas been mentioned in the upper Updates, somewhere around the 2 or 3 lot of inclusions.

Not so much on changing the appearance of AI cars, as that’s a hell of a lot of coding to do on a huge number of cars in any one race, but the various AI difficulties have been discussed.

What was proposed was that there be 3-4 levels of difficulty, similar too now, alone with the various difficulties each”Class’ adds to the game, but an additional one. A “Custom” difficulty seen in the games like TOCA (V8SC’s series) etc where you can ramp up the difficulty levels in Custom to opver 110 – 115% . .which would take car of highly modded User cars.

For now though, I would suggest dropping the mods down on your cars (the Goat especially) to say “S Class” and then setting the difficulty level to the highest, and then try that.

You’ll find the AI much more aggressive and far more able to keep up with you, if not out gun you in some cases around corners etc. Its of little use game-wise having a car that’s over the top tuned against stuff that’s outside its class. Of course you will beat them, but stay within the class limits, and you’ll have some very entertaining, and demanding times ahead of you.

Plus look at breaking some of your FriendsLists Career Leaderboard times in various classes. If you think your “goat” goes really well, then stack it up against some of the top scorers in the world and see how it goes then.

I love forza 1&2 BUT you need to bring back some of the things like adjusting the E-brake.. and it would be nice if we could actually tune the car after we do things to the motor via engine managment and injecters and say a turbo.. have a place where we can go and dyno the car and actually be able to adjust the fuel trim and be able to set boost levels, and timing. and if you bring back the Drag Strip make it more realistic to where you could build a drag car if you wanted to with slicks and having to do a burnout and such.

Some great ideas there mate, some that might take some heavy number crunching though, given the scale of even the current game.

The current game has in excess of 340 cars so far, imagine the huge work that would entail just adding those factors into it presently, let alone in the next iteration. It could get so big, it would get out of control management wise, and place the game outside the general publics (casual gamers) reach, and even hurt sales.

Great ideas, and hopefully Turn10 pay attention to the various forums and comments made around the place when they are making the next game, which I’m sure they are.

Personally I hope they DON’T put all those cars in. It will simply bog the game down no end, and take it away from being what it is, into a simple free-for-all customizing game, NOT a race game.

Look at Grid, yes, it’s an arcade racer, and both are vastly different. But it only offers around 30 plus cars with around 3-4 different livery paint schemes on each. Yet it’s just jam-packed with fun and quick cars.

I certainly do NOT want to see Forza 3 turn into a GT clone, where every car known to man is included for the sake of it, and miss out on what the game is really about – racing.

I don’t want to be limited to customising cars into the U class, I’d like to create my own racing team and customise cars that can fit into the R classes, (would help if they provided race cars without livery). This would be better if you were able to stick aerodynamic wide body kits onto current cars, and cut bits off the bottom to make them lower overall (like the JGTC supras and such) and a couple more Forza 2 racing parts, I don’t like standard bumpers with a carbon splitter glued on the bottom.

I’d like to see more race cars from the modern era, it feels strange racing an 04 Audi R8 against a 98 Porsche AG 911. Also, if this game is a racing SIM then I think it desperately needs a free practice and qualifying mode. I’d like to earn my place on the starting grid of a race!

It’d also be nice to see some real-world championships and races (If they could get licenses and what have you)

And cockpit view, the least they could do is an internal view somewhat close to the windscreen to provide a better drivers’ perspective. Atm it’s like every car has the mclaren f1 driving position.

ALSO (As if there wasn’t enough!!) a free-draw ability for the livery editor.

And better pit stops. I want to be able to have a strategy for a race, choose how many stints I do and how much fuel goes into the car. Running heavy on fuel when I don’t need to slows me down…and like I read earlier, the basic repair of aero parts and I agree that gaffa tape and touches like that would help. I’d like to see the damage improved a lot (I wouldn’t mind paying for a mistake and ending a race DNF) and I hope the car manufacturers are kind and allow cars to roll. Other games have done it, why can’t they let T10?

I’m sure there’s more but I should really leave some space ;)

Forza 3 needs weather like PGR series. It also needs the new Lexus Is-F and Nissan GTR (r35). it also needs to get more elaborate in the engine tuning, like tweaking with the turbo boost and even choosing which brand of oil to use (if that’ll make a difference). you should also be able to choose which brand of upgrades to use on your car, for example: choosing between brembo or wildwood. It also needs a wider range of wheel styles and even body kits by real life companies like veilside. Official drift and drag races would be nice, but make drifting realistic. Please better graphics!

NO I’M NOT A RICER, JUST A KID WHO WANTS A GREAT RACING GAME

    Hi.

I’m a big fan of racing games and espacially racing sims. At the moment I’m playing forza 2 and I must say I like a lot of it!

However, there are a few things that I would like to be changed until the next release. First of all I must tell you that my favorite racing game of all time is Need for Speed: Porsche Uleashed and I would like forza to take a step towards the structure of that game instead of just poliching up the graphics.

First of all: Add a cameraview from the drivers perspective! I know it’s a lot of extra work to make detailed interiors, but the feeling the players get are well worth it!

Second: Make the garage, the buy/sell area and the buy upgrades section more like in need for speed: porsche unleashed. In forza 2 you never get the feeling of ever really owning the cars in the same way as in nfs:pu. And it’s a joke that you only get 100cr if you sell the cars you win. If they gonna have it like that, skip cars as winning prices, it only ruins the realism of the game. I would also love to have the ability to by used cars and fix them up like you can do in nfs:pu.

Third: In nfs:pu, if you damage your car during a race, it affects the handling just like in forza 2 and I really love that feature. But when you damage a car in nfs:pu you also have to repair it before the next race, otherwise you have to drive the next race with the damage you got in the previous race. In forza2 the car automaticlly repairs itself efter the race and that takes away a great deal of realism. And the important thing here is to understand that this feature that you have to repair the cars if you damage them also makes you drive more carfully and take better care of your car. You really don’t want to smash your ferrari 430 into a wall if you have to pay up for the repairs afterwards.

Acually that’s all I can think of right now.

But as with every game you play; more cars and more tracks are allways welcome. In forza I would really like more old cars but I think they have some of the brands covered.

After this post it must seem like I hate forza2, but I don’t! I think it’s a great game! I don’t think they should change to much regarding the handling of the cars and such.. They pretty much got it nailed there! =)

What they need to do is like have options for the cars like you want a 03 mustang do u want it v6 gt or cobra convertible or hardtop the manual or automatic and make auto work like a real auto harder u press the gas the high the shift point and make manual trans have shift styles and for the sake of the trucks we need some i would like to see a lighting or a ss 454 silverado or hell give me a diesel i love to see some black smoke and i dont thing trucks would hurt this game and for all those people that dont want them then dont buy them

Ed: Combined the two comments mate for easier reading. Tip, Break up your posts and puts ome Caps and commas and full stops in, as it helps people being able to read your posts faster and clearer.

oh and another thing put some older cars on there like a fox body stang and like some mid 80s cars that know one likes like a dodge omni glh and more muscle cars and bring back the drag track and if u do that make drag tires so u could pull the front tires of the ground that would kick ass to see that and make it real not like that nfs prostreet shit make it like the twist allittle and only the left front picks up or something

You have a bunch of U.S muscle(great) and quite a few Asian….but almost none european cars from 1960-1995. 89` BMW M635CSi,86` BMW M535i, 80`BMW 323i, Mercedes 190 2.3 16, Mercedes 560 SEC, Ford Sierra Cosworth,84` Opel Monza GSE, 77` Opel Commodore GSE, Opel Astra GSi…this i think could bring Forza too a new level. In other words…more cars form 1960 an onwards.

I would like to see the ability for you to see the customization options done to a car affect them, then if your satisfied, purchase the parts. I have wasted close to 150,00 in credits just on stuff for cars that I find don’t affect the car. I mean you can test drive the car with the add-ons. Try before you buy, so to speak.
Also, if you put sponsor vinyls on your cars, it should either lower the cost of upgrades, or increase the winnings you get. Like in real life, you slap some stickers on your car, they give you some cash for showing them off.
And on a personal level, I would like to see performance trucks and SUVs like the Ford lightning, Dodge rams, Chevy s10, Europeans like the Porsche Cheyenne, Mercedes, and others. My personal favorite being the ‘07 Chevy Trailblazer SS. I pretty sure Turn 10 staff won’t do it, but it would be fun to have truck races and such. It would probably upset the physics they have set up already, just putting it out there.

For those who don’t know what it is, it is a 2003 Mustang Cobra the 04 is nice but with a supercharger on the 03 all you had to do was buy some brakes for it and you can hang with Porsche’s. But I’m sure a few of you knew that. Would be nice to have a proper boostang in the game. And being able to opt out for a turbo instead of the stock supercharger would be nice as well. I know I’d jump back and drag race again if it was in the game. I was one of the top drag guys from Forza1 and still have yet to be beaten on Forza 2 by anyone in the same car as me.. if you want to race sometime hit me up GT: Klutchmytoolz

I would like to see Mosport International Raceway. I think it is a popular racetrack. Lots of people race there like the LeMans, Nascar Canadian Tire Series, GT Class (with the cadillacs), Touring Car Class, MX5 Miatas, Formula Mazda’s and many more. So I think Mosport should be on Forza Motorsports 3.

You need to add more muscle cars !!!!!! Be able to slap on some blowers on it. Change the look of the exhaust and most of all add white-out tires. Where the lettering on the muscle car tires is white. It makes any car look fast ! Most of all add some more chevy and dodge muscle cars. Monte Carlo and Dodge Dart Demon !!. Put a audible changer where you can make the car sound exactly like you want.

Ok a small addition but i think a very important one for the upcoming drift scene…

    Nissan 240sx Fastback/Hatchback (1993)

very popular in the drift scene and very missed in Forza 2. Seeing as how they included the silvia s13 coupe but not the 240sx hatchback, nearly the same car except the change of the rear end. Personally the hatchback is a much better looking car.

I was also thinking that in Forza 3 especially if they plan to add a drag racing option, there should be trucks. Heres my list of trucks…

Dodge Ram 1500/2500/3500 Gas and Diesel(2001 & 2007 of all models)
Cheverolet 1500/2500/3500 Gas and Diesel(2001 & 2007 of all models)
    Ford F-series 150/250/350 Gas and Diesel(2001 & 2007 of all models)
Toyota Pickup (Late 90’s early 2000’s)
    Toyota Tundra(2008)
    Ford Lightning

Other than that i’d like to see Active Aero Spoilers like the ‘93 3KGT has. I would like to see swapable spoilers from same manufactured cars. Ex. The Stealth sporting a 3KGT AA wing. AI using tuned/upgraded cars, not just stock.

I think that Forza 3 should definitely look into more cars. There are ones that not many people know about and would be awesome on the game. 2003-04 Ford Mustang Cobra, 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, and the 2009 Chevrolet Challenger SRT8.

Also, I think that upgrading your car could be alot better. For instance, different brand names for superchargers. It should be very realistic.

And last I think that Turn10 Should really try to get drag strips. Making the game with all of these details should turn out to be an awesome game.

I think that Forza 3 should let you make your own preson… like the Game Juiced 2. that would be cool.

and when your upgrading your car you click the areas that it shows you car tune up or upgrade exp. when you what to upgrade your engine you click the engine area and it shows you what your engine lookes like
so when you get a badass engine you will see it

Hope Forza lookes in too my reply peace

How about the test track for the show Top Gear?
I’m sure anyone who’s seen the show would enjoy pitting their zondas etc against the stigs’ time, and seeing how fast they can take the reasonably priced car round (Liana and Lacetti).

Could u have a better tune on the game? So u can tune how much boost n stuff. N some different cars that are more drifting kinda cars. Cars such as
    Toyota corolla ke70.

    @oz

you do realize that a diesel truck would be able to keep up to any slower car like a civic or focus and thats without up grades

do you even know how much horses you can put under the hood ( over 850 hp) and to do that you do the chip upgrade, inject it with propane and a shot of NOS

so before you say know think how fast that diesel could go with 850 hp under the hood. you could easily beat a corvette zo6

I’m not doubting the BHP abilities of diesel cars, it’s just as diesels are concerned, many aren’t raced as competitvily or as much as racing fuel/petrol vehicle classes. Most of the major races are with petrol vehicles and while that exists, most race game developers will place them first before any other, simply due to race industry support.

Sponsors are less in that area to, and it’s the sponsors that pay to have their logos seen in games and the like, which helps subsidise the games development costs.

I’m sure if Turn10 saw adding a huge amount of diesel cars as a worth while investment, they would . . so who know . . . And, were looking at a racing game with racing liveries.

Much like the new Race Pro from SimBins coming exclusively to the 360.

Turn10 will crank up the “Race” simulation even more, as SimBin’s racing pedigree could topple Turn10 from the console sim throne if they do not aim squarely at “racing” and not you everyday mum & dad vehicles. All of which CAN be modded to all hell and back, but not many are used as race breed vehicles within the racimng world, which IS what games like Forza 2 (soon Forza 3) and Race Pro are aimed at.

I THINK TAKE JUICED 2′S IDEA WITH SHOWING THE CARS BEFORE THE RACE WITH ITS DRIVER IN FRONT OF THE CAR. DOORS OPEN HOOD UP AND ALL THAT.

DIFFERENT BODY STYLE DESIGNS WIDE BODY TO NON WIDE BODY, ALONG WITH TAIL LIGHTS, HEAD LIGHTS, SOME NIGHT TRACKS. HEAD LIGHTS GET KNOCKED OUT THE ROAD IS HARDER TO SEE..

DRIFT CHALLENGES ON REAL TRACKS, WITH REAL DRIFT TUNING AVAILABLE TO FIT EVERY DRIVERS DRIVING STYLE.

LIKE EVERYONE ELSE SAID, KEEP IT SIM SIM SIM .. BUT GIVE IT THE OPTIONS THAT NEED FOR SPEED, AND JUICED AN ALL THOSE STREET RACING GAMES HAVE ALSO. GIVE IT THE FULL CUSTOM DESIGNING ABILITY, ALONG WITH SIM HOW THE CAR HANDLES AND ALL THAT.

DRAG STRIPS, FORCE MANUAL, TCS OFF, WE USE THE GERMAN TRACK AS OUR DRAG STRIP RIGHT NOW..

IF YA SERIOUS ABOUT IT DO IT RIGHT IN ONE SHOT. GIVE A LIL TASTE OF EVERYTHING SO IT SUITS EVERYONES STYLE..

SO FAR FORZA IS THE BEST RACING GAME OUT THERE, BUT IT CAN BE 20X BETTER..

P.S. DO THE INTERIOR VIEW WITH STEERING WHEEL LOOKING OUT OVER THE HOOD.. AND IF THERE WAS A WAY TO SET IT UP WHERE IF U TURN UR HEAD INSTEAD OF USIGN THE JOYSTICK TO TURN UR HEAD IT WOULD BE GREAT..

I think forza 2 was great, but i wud like to see 3 be a little bit more like gt4 where it takes u a little while to get from your origional car to better ones… in forza, after a few races you win cars much faster than your own, and it gets quite easy.

also, if u have a favourite car in forza, u rarely get to race in it as there are so many different racing restrictions and regulations, u rarely use the same car twice, so it feels as though u dont really own them….. like in gt4…….. also:

    multiple weather conditions

new tracks and events such as le mans

    f1 cars like on gt4?

    CUSTOM RACES

Better painting and vinyl options, as well as tuning options such as turbo boost… ect…

Add to car list: One of the rarest 90’s Fords EVER!

    1996 Ford Thunderbird “SVT” Prototype

    http://www.tccoa.com/articles/clipings/tbirdarticle.jpg

    http://www.tccoa.com/articles/clipings/thunder.jpg

The SVT thunderbird was originally going to be produced as a 1996 model on the MN12 platform

It was to have a DOHC 4.6 V8 LIKE THE COBRA

It was to have either a five speed or six speed manual

It was to have a eaton roots style supercharger

The prototypes where made out of 94/95 T-birds with a 96 front bumper, 96 side cladding, 95 door handles, 95 bumpers, 95 headlights, and a custom cowl hood, along with 17 inch cobra R looking wheels. It was pushed back to 97, then pushed back, to be a 1998 model thunderbird. Sadly ford decided that they didnt need the wonderful MN12 thunderbird, and dsicontinued it in september of 1997, so the wonderful SVT never saw the light of day. There where four or five prototypes produced, however all but maybe one where distoryed, and I believe John Colletti owns it (yeah, head of SVT, it’s one of his toys)

Please,Please,Please..give us more detailed tuning abilities. I’m talking about Air/Fuel Ratio adjustments, Cam lift adjustments, Bore\Stroke adjustments for one off stroker motor creations, Head porting..etc..etc. You get the idea.

An in garage Dyno feature that this can all be tuned from. These features would give the ability for people to truely test and showcase their knowledge in tuning cars. For those without that level of knowledge you could still keep the current tuning options for them so that they can still enjoy at least the basic benefits of adding parts.

This would open up a whole new realm of Auction house features like selling complete, dyno tuned engines for use in different cars of the same body type (ie..FERWD,RERWD,MERWD..etc)

    @ Jaisen,

Why would you think I wouldn’t listen to what you have to say . . . ? Remembering of course, I’m not the one that makes choices around Forza 3 or any title, simply making an argument as to what people would like to see in the next iteration.

As far as it having the G25 intergrated into the game, it’s unlikely due to the fact it’s 1) a 3rd party item, and mostly connected to the PS3 and PS2. So allowing it to be associated with the 360 would not make good publicity within the industry.

However, making ones ‘current’ driving aim a lot better, and omparibel, and perhaps even as good or better, that would open up the door for the wheel to be used not only on the 360, but any PC driving based game. Which is one aavenue MS may chose, as they wish to bring in items that are cross platform compatible within both platforms on the SAME games.

There first inroad to that is with the 360 controller for the PC and with the game … which was aimed at allowing both PC and 360 gamers to play head to head. Who’s to say that they (MS) are not quietly working on a re-vamped Steering Wheel setup . .? I would if I was in their shoes.

They will not be making the game available for PC’s, as that is not the avenue they wish to go with the franchise. It has a solid 2 million plus “active” userbase almost 2 years since its release. Not many, if any, racing game has that level of support as an “active” userbase 2 years after it was released.

The game is aimed at consoles and aimed at beating their ri=val Sony. Not competing with the PC market, which MS has down pat anyhow. SO they would only be in competition with – themselves. Which doesn’t make much sense, now does it.

I just spent a great afternoon with the likes of Mark Scaife, Jamie Whincup, and other V8 Supercar drivers at Luna Park here in Sydney at a media event. What were they playing . . ?

Forza 2, what were their comments, great game, and the tunning is excellent, and they enjoy in on the console because it’s much more accessible for them at home in the comfort of their own living from with the family.

WHich is “exactly” where MS want the 360. Not in a bedroom with dirty bedlinen and smelly socks. So why would they then bring out a game based around a PC which predominantly lives, works and is used in either a bedroom or an office rather than the living rooms of millions of gamers across the globe . . doesn’t make sense now, does it.

Play the game as it was intended, on the console, learn the controls and you’ll find that even with a controller, you can set times alongside the greatest drivers we have here in Australia. When evenly matched, one of our own staff beat Scaife today on the track . . showing that even the best racers love the game and are willing to “play” it as it comes.

I think you’ll be quite surprised at what Turn10 will be presenting come release day with Forza 3.
