whilst i agree with one of the reasons for these releases is panicing games developers seeing a return on sales, i would have said uve missed angles on this article.

One of the main things while reading this article i thought to myself “who would want to pay the extra £10 or whatever currency u pay with for a full game guide when most people will want it off the net for free?”
I also know for myself and im sure plenty of other players AND collectors i dont mind paying an extra amount of money for these releases with figures and books etc and personally im happy with just a steelbook release. Obviously u dont want to always get the bulkiest release because of room at home, but these releases are few and far between so i say get them while u can.

Well…….I would say that LEs often make for some extended time that u do tend to spend with a game title. But there were games which received LEs not simply worth the price. I recently purchased the MGS4 LE which did not have anything but a cardboard box for packaging and a blu-ray disc. Here in my place it costed around $125 which IS a rip-off.

On the other hand, Devil may cry 4 had a solid LE since it packed a steel box as game case, an anime DVD, an extras disc which could be played on PC and had goodies as well as the OST too and a real nice packaging cover. It was all for $90 which is a cool deal. Same can be said for the GTA 4 LE which had tremendous value for money. Same for the Halo 3 Legendary pack.

It seems consumers simply need to see the goodies per $ value before picking up an LE…
