BioShock: Sea Of Dreams Released

New News as of Oct 24th 09: It seems 2K Games have bowed to a huge amount of pressure and finally been given the go ahead to release the official BioShock 2: Sea Of Dreams Trailer from 2K Australia/Marin for the upcoming 360 title. (and yes, the PC and PS3), which will be released in the 3rd Qtr of 2009. No date set for final release as yet. Nor has any mention of which platform will release first, or if it will be released simultaneously on all 3 platforms.

2K Games representative Charlie Sinhaseni stated to the press, “BioShock 2 is destined for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC platforms.” No doubt obviously skirting around the press’s questions as to when and which one would be first. Warning that any 2K Games reps would do best not to mention such things at this stage.

While a YouTube video did appear last week coming from the end of the PS3 game, 2K Games were very reluctant to discuss the game or the actual release and platforms. But today, they buckled to pressure and finally gave out the details to the press and gave us access to the HD footage and some pics.

No other ‘assets” are available at the moment, but once they do become public, you can be sure we’ll let you know, and have them up here for all to see.

The game is sure to be up there yet again winning awards a-plenty. Knowing what they have done in the past (BioShock developers 2K Australia/Marin) then the following iteration will only be even better.

What could the term “Sea Of Dreams”  be alluding to ? The clip shows the young girl, now obviously older, standing on the shores holding “Teddy”. She draws off into the distance slowly, with the sand rising and forming the art-deco style build-scape reminiscent of the underwater world of Rapture. With the BioShock Cast Iron sign appearing covered in sand and water, the water slowly dripping off revealing the words – Bioshock 2: Sea Of Dream. – cut to black.

So the questions that hound me now are, what lay ahead for the young woman now ? Will Big Daddy still play a pivotal roll in the game ? What will your role be as a character ? Will we see how Rapture got to such a state that it did ? Will there be some form of prelude to the events that led to Raptures demise ? . . . . . We can only wonder and wait with baited breath until more news appears from 2K Games and 2K Australia/Marin . . . soon as it does, you’ll see it here.
