Volatile’s Secret 360/PS3 Un-named Triple A Shooter

OXCGN finds Secret Triple A Shooter Game Trailer found at Volatile Games. Plus 2 other Secret 360/PS3 projects at Blitz-Games.

Games for Adults

While digging around the various games in our OXCGN Games Listing for 2009/10, I stumbled upon this little gem from Volatile Games / Blitz Games on their home site under “Secret Projects” entitled Triple A Shooter for 2009.

Not so secret really. Sort of the secret that was a secret but isn’t . . . what we Australian’s like to call a Clayton’s Secret. The secret you have when you’re not having a secret . . .

The first game is obviously a detective based first person perspective game based on the game engine footage shown in the clip. It shows a crime scene with an overlaid narrative of what “must have” taken place. The details look mighty fine and hopefully this is all in-game engine footage demonstrating how the engine works.

Upon checking out the engine’s details, we find 3 games, or styles of games: two from Blitz Games section and one from Volatiles adults games section; the aforementioned Triple A Shooter.

Now these are either simply examples of the engine at work, or prototypes of 3 games in 3 different genres that Volatile and Blitz Games are looking at releasing over the next few years.

img_logo With the Crime Scene detective Triple A Shooter slated for a 2009 release, as stated on the site, the other 2 are entitled “Continental Hotel” and “Eagle King”, all showing various stills of in-engine shots. There is a strong likelihood that the two other projects could well be these two other sets of shots seen below.

When we check their ‘Games’ section, there is a drop-down showing Secret Projects (plural) so the likelihood of these being just engine examples is slim. They actually look like proper game designs for the possible 3 new IP’s from Blitz Games/Volatile Games.

It is also nice to see a game coming out on the 360 and PS3 at the same time. However this may be yet another game that will most likely not see the light of day here in Australia due to our outdated games rating laws, where many adult games get banned, or miss labeled. But that’s another ongoing story.

Check the in-engine footage out of Crime Scene, and please just hang on for 30 secs as the lead-in is a bit long. Plus below are some stills of the 3 games. These will be stuck away in the “Projects” section of OXCGN’s 360 Game Release Listing for further news and information, so you might want to check out what other projects have been found from other game developers.
