Since we’ve moved on to the Hi-Def era the difference between NTSC and PAL regions has decreased dramatically. When XIII has been localised into English then there will probably be about a week between releases in America and Europe.

And S-E has stated (and its all over the net if you bother to look) that XIII is being held back until the 360 version is complete for regions outside Japan.

If you can provide legitimate links to what you are saying I would gladly have a look. The fact is though, the producer himself has stated that Localisation and porting will occur simultaneously (Links in the article) using a different team. So I’m more inclined to side with the actual producer of said title.

localiztion will occur onTPS3 before 360. but they are being released at the same time. Thos although the ps3 version will b done it will have to wait for the xbox port to be made. Sqaure enix said this them selves when 360 version was announced.

@ Dustin: In the article it explains (with an explanation from Mr. Kitase) that localisation AND porting would occur simultaneously, using different teams. The wait we will have to endure is part of the natural localisation/translation process inherent in all Final Fantasy releases.

Darn, and I was hoping to blame Microsoft, the tyrannical multinational corporation intent on destroying the entire gaming industry…

As soon as I saw all of those blame MS about FFXIII, I instantly thought back to the PS3 is dead, then the MS’ RROD bashing, then the PS3 is over priced, then the MS is weaker, then the PS3′s ports are poorer quality than the other…

The best thing about all of this?!? It’s NEVER going to end! Even after nice editors like SUTTONDAGGER try to set us straight!!!

but my question is how do you know that they didnt just delay the release in Japan so that it only comes out 6 months before they have the NA and EU version ready

Plus square Enix Stated before The 360 version was announced that they would try to Convert the Japan version to US version quicker then in the past.

You forgot one important issue here, Square Enix announced that the localization would occur simultaneously. The reason; they are holding back the PS3 version until the 360 port is finished. I would call that a “delay” ANY WAY YOU LOOK AT IT!!!!
