That’s right, OXCGN will have an Aussie E3 Assault Team at this year’s 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) to bring you the news first hand, as it happens.
Well, it’s been a quick flurry of emails, phone calls and desperate calls on some friends in high places, but some of OXCGN’s team members and OzboxLive team members will be streaming live from the floor at E3, and live from the MS Pre-E3 keynote on June 1st.
We expect to have some early news given to us on a few 1st Party games due for announcement, some of which are going to have many 360 owners grinning like a Cheshire Cat.
We are going because OXCGN is now the biggest Xbox 360 site in the Australasian Region, and has exceeded even many long standing Xbox sites in here in Australia.
We are proud to say that it currently sits at 133k globally (of all websites – not just gaming sites) and is growing daily. A note of interest is that we were 26th million in mid Dec 2008, just to give you an idea of our growth.
Which is a testament to the hard working volunteer team here at OXCGN and to you our readers, who continue choosing OXCGN as your source on gaming information!
Microsoft’s Xbox Div have penciled us in for some “special announcements”, which of course we can not discuss here or now. But rest assured, you will ALL be extremely happy with the news, that’s for sure.
Anyone that said the Xbox platform had no games for 2009, was definitely not thinking straight, or just a pure fanboy on another platform. We’ll have a myriad of 1st-Party and 3rd-Party games. OXCGN will be announcing some new IP’s, continued franchises and detailed developer interviews.
We may even report on some “other platform’s” news (from the Darkside), as we’re not adverse to discussing the games of other consoles like the PS3 here on OXCGN, even though it is an Xbox-centric site. The team here at OXCGN are gamers first and foremost, so we’re not into the whole fanboy bullshit.
So sign up right now for our OXCGN Twitter RSS feed, and, most importantly, the OXCGN Cover-It-Live feed which will be coming direct to you from the MS Keynote and of course our OXCGN Feedburner eNewsletter.
They will all be giving you a moment by moment delivery of the details as they are announced. You’ll find our OXCGN Feedburner eNewsletter, OXCGN Twitter and OXCGN Cover-It-Live subscriptions in the right column, so sign up now and start getting the early Pre-E3 news and predictions, as well as all the direct feed on the week of E3.
The team consists of 2 full team members and one affiliate team member. The Editor of OzBoxLive Radio will also be there representing his Podcast show doing interviews live off the floor, and between our two other members and the OzBoxLive members, we’ll be bringing you the whole deal direct from E3. Not from some multinational, corporate run site. Or some huge syndicated network.
It will come from a volunteer supported, non profit community run site, by members just like you, who are paying their own way there. Just so they can deliver the news straight to you as it happens, from a gamer’s perspective.
Our people on the ground there will be:
• Aaron Bertinetti (News Editor)
• Arthur Kolso (Community Editor)
• Mark Libman (Oxcgn Contributor & OzBoxLive Editor)
• David Alexandrou (OzBoxLive Radio Sub-Editor)
So what are you waiting for, stop reading this and sign up now for various RSS and news feeds. You’ll get all the Pre-E3 predictions due to start really soon, and see if some of our team are right by tuning in on the days of E3.
E3 runs from June 1st – June 4th inclusive, including the Pre-E3 Microsoft Keynote which is sure to make many gaming fans especially happy this year.
You’ll also find news being feed to you from some of our Affiliate sites who will be doing their level best to deliver you the information not only from OXCGN’s sources, but their own. So make sure you keep an eye on them as well.
Here’s the list of current OXCGN Affliated sites:

ahhh now i understand why yous are so pumped in going.
shure shure call it whatever you want.
(looks at that pic “the staff is here to work not play”
but there better be some alan wake info for me out of E3, if i could make any game i wanted it would be that.
a twisted thriller with a couple of unexpected twists like stephen king novel that was recently turned into a movie where the main character creates a guy in his head than figures out he isent real or something.
that would make a perfect video game.
best of luck, enjoy it
i am so going next year!
*stares wistfully in what he assumes to be the general direction of LA….*
Ah well. I hope to be there next year! Could use the Sony scholarship for games I got to go and cover Microsoft’s press conference. XD They might not be too happy about that, haha.
Very nice guys. Enjoy it for me. I’ll see you all at the next E3.
