The Storm is over…or has it just begun?
With Konami and Kojima Productions announcing at the Microsoft Keynote that a Metal Gear Solid game, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, is making its way to the ever grateful hands of Xbox 360 owners, the instant question on many people’s minds is: is it exclusive to 360?
Calm down PS3 owners, we may ALL get a chance at this great game now, but if not, remember you had MGS4 exclusive!
Since Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance was ported over to the original Xbox, fans with a 360 had reason to hope that they would finally get to have another taste. After a long wait, and many rumours, Xbox 360 players will finally be able to play Metal Gear Solid on their favorite console of choice.
Metal Gear Solid has been a traditional stealth action game, but one can only wonder what gameplay changes might occur in Kojima’s next game in the Metal Gear universe, with Raiden, a much more action oriented character in MGS4, taking centre stage.
Besides gameplay, Metal Gear Solid games tell sone of the most emotional, inspirational stories ever told in a video games. It’s almost certain you will be gripped on the edge of your seat as you bear witness to Raiden’s story. Even if you have not played any of the other titles in the series, the game will still suck you into its deep revealing story, which will leave you saying “Wow” when the credits finally roll down the screen.
The last outing, MGS4 was truly one of the most cinematic games you could ever play. And we can only wonder what amazing tale this new chapter will tell.
No doubt this announcement will be a bit of a sting for Sony fanboys, but fear not, your time of glory will come within the next 24 hours, when you may gloat away at what we Xbox 360 users get to miss out on, so let us have this joyous occasion. In the mean time, you can check out our very positive review of the Playstation 3 version of Metal Gear Solid 4.
But the biggest question, perhaps, is will the Xbox 360 be able to match up evenly with what we’ve seen the Playstation 3 capable of, or will the Xbox 360 version have to take a few shortcuts to get it to work? We think the 360 is up to it.
Hopefully we will find out more information soon!

I have been a fan of MGS since i was 7,and while it hasnt been on that trash that is the xbox 360 all xbox owners have bashed the game because it wasnt on “your” console. The game will suffer because the 360 doesnt have the power of the ps3,i can only see it being the best it can be if it is on multiple disks for 360 because it will be on ps3 because hideo kojima wouldnt do that to his fans and he hates the whole console war bull.for those that havnt played the previous games in the series (which is probably the majority of you 360 elitists) play them because it is the best story that has ever been in games and nothing else on anything else hase come close to it.im not raly bothered that its going to be multi platform, but what does piss me off is that the rich gameplay of past MGS titles will suffer and possibly the story, and that snotty xbox owners gloat about it for the time being until it is unveiled that it isnt exclusive whilst most of you dont have a clue what the series has to offer and what it has delivered in the past.
rant over
Microsofts Own Press release said Metal Gear rising was a Mutli Plat game..
Yes it sort of did and didn’t, there are TWO games coming from Konami one is PS3 exclusive the other MP, but there was talk of another, but nothing has been heard aboutthat.
IGN is dumb and always jump the gun numerous websites even microsoft suits have stated that it was never exclusive gamepress has also announced that its ps3/PC and released alot of e3 news early
ign confirmed it as an exclusive game
I don’t think it has been officially confirmed multi plat yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was, or if there was a different exclusive for Sony.
The article discusses the implications of it if it is exclusive and if it isn’t. 360 fans have a right to be happy that it will be on their console after missing out on MGS4. If it is multi, would a 360 version look as good as a PS3 one? It would be interesting to see.
We don’t know if is going to be a great game, yes, but Metal Gear Solid games generally are high quality. I personally think it will be less stealth and more action with Raiden, but I may be wrong. I hope it keeps MGS4′s great variety of locations and gameplay styles you can choose, rather than try to be something else.
MGS:R is not a 360 Exclusive as its a PS3, 360, PC title. Its also not MGS5, it is a spin-off. This author really needs to do his homework and thus this article= Fail.
The game is also from the same storm site that has had the MGS 5 E3 countdown, youcan hear the background music when they are announcing it on stage, I know, I heard it as we broadcasted from there today.
Plus it’s up in the aim as to whether or not Snake will be in either game, but Raiden is in this one. It’s a bit ambitious at the mommet, and no one really knows until the briefings tomorrow and the next day, which we wil be attending at the SOny conference and booth. Yes, an Xbox site at the Sony conference, go figure.
I don’t think you understand. Losing MGS exclusivity is equivalent to Halo going multi-platform. MGS is/was the biggest title on Sony consoles.
Geez, this article is hyping it up already- we don’t even know if this is going to be a great game, considering it’ll likely be a huge departure from the other MGS games and we know next to nothing about it anyway.
MGS:R is multiplat
