We are all trying to get the most out of our dollar these days, especially here in Australia, where the dollar bounces around like a Joey in it’s mother pouch, never sitting still long enough to feel comfortable.

OXCGN is beginning to create alliances with various sites around Australia, and overseas. It will slowly becomes something more substancial over time, but what we want to do is “introduce” you to these sites, their teams and the ethos behind them.

It might sound strange, one site promoting another as not many sites do, except the ones that make it big by doing what the net does best – sharing information.

So to start the ball rolling this week, we’d like to introduce to all our many thousands of readers, a very neat and well thought out game site that allows you to swap and trade your games through a broker.

GameShare is that broker or as Julian puts it, an Online Game Exchange Platform.

gameshare pageThey act as your go-between to ensure your games are treated with care, that the game you are trading for is in good condition and is as indicated when the owner placed it up for swapping.

Game Share charge a handling fee of course, but the fee is justified if the end result is safer trades between gamers across Australia. For a limited time they are even waiving their fee too!

Many of the major stores make a bundle off you, the gamer, with exchange games, not really giving you good value for your hard earnt and spent dollars. Ebay takes hefty fees when you try and sell.  And just trading over the net with some anonymous gamer can be risky, so Game Share was born.

Game Share has been launched by a group of avid gamers who were frustrated with the expense and risks involved in game trading. The launch has provided a platform for gamers to exchange their games through a safe but low cost medium, at a cost comparatively lower than the alternatives of retail trade and game rental.

The founders of Game Share have gone to extreme lengths to ensure the process of exchange runs as smoothly and safely as possible, catering to the gamers needs. Each member identifies in their user profiles games that they wish to trade and games that they would like to obtain, allowing the Game Share site analyze  this data to find matching trades between members.

Each trade that is made between members is quality assured through the processing by Game Share who visually check each item being traded before sending to the respective trade partners. This verification removes the risk that is generally associated with exchanges and purchases through other online portals such as Ebay or Amazon where the quality of the product cannot be guaranteed, and is a service that is not currently offered by any other online game swapping service in Australia.

gameshare 2Game Share can also be seen to be providing a fairer exchange for gamers in comparison to the alternative trading options. Game Share offers a 1 for 1 game swapping service (in comparison to the standard 3 for 1 retail trade swap) and only charges a minimal fee for the processing and verification process. Given that the processing fee is charged per item and that there are no ongoing charges, Game Share is also equally cost effective for all levels of game users wishing to exchange their various games.

Game Share currently offers, through its members, exchanges on a variety of gaming platforms and consoles including the Xbox 360, Wii, Playstation 3, Playstation Portable and Nintendo DS. The site has the ability to allow members to search for games either by the platform or the name of the game. Many are pleasantly surprised by the number of great games that are available for trade. Users are able to register easily online and commence their game swapping experience almost immediately.

For convenience, low risk and low cost fun all in one location, I would recommend signing up and taking full advantage of the offers Game Share have. I believe the first month of their launch is free, so you’d best act quickly for added value. Make sure you let them know that you’re coming from OXCGN.

No, OXCGN does NOT get anything for this whatsoever. This is not a paid advertorial and OXCGN’s only benefit is making sure its readers are well catered for, it is as simple as that.

  1. I use it myself, and works flawlessly.

Traded my Dead Rising for a new, sealed Too Human. The best thing in my opinion is that the condition of each game you put on the site must be specified, so when you go to offer a trade you can make sure it’s in a condition you want (eg: may get a better trade for something in a ‘Good’ condition compared to ‘Unopened’).

They also check to make sure there’s no little fibs going on when you send your game in after accepting a trade. Much better than a random internet person who can rip you off or pretend their disc in 2 pieces is ‘Excellent’ condition.
