I agree with the R18+ – it simply requires education for the general public and for the parents, through schools and general media.

If they were made aware that there WAS a disticnt differece between what THEY think R means _ R=sex) and that it simply means R = Restricted for tose over 18) an dhad a clear sign showing that, which we already do, then more would understand.

It wouldn’t take a huge amount of money compared to a new system, and it would be a positive move, not a negative move for “the children’s protection” groups.

SUre, no matter what Laws are there, many “children” will get hold of whatever they choose to, no matter how much security is in place.

But that doesn’t mean we should have no laws or rules. Society requires them in order to function. Without them, we end up in chaos and there is no system for ppl to follow.

And we’ve seen what happens when that takes place.

We currently have a R18+ rating for movies (which is NOT being used as it should be and in fact being abused here in Australia btw) and we have all the art media done already, the classification exists, and it needs no major alteration whatsoever.

The major hang up is, that the general population equates “R” qith sex, when in fact its the “X” ratuing that the OLFC already has btw, that deal in movies and content sealing in ‘explicit sexual content’. ALl you have to do is go to the OLFC and check their ratings, and there it is.

But how many normal citizens do that – bugger all actually. They WANT the government to tell them what to do, how they shoould do it and hand feed them basically so they have no responsibility, and can then hand over any mistakes to those in power. Sad but true.

Games are no longer the playing field for children or minors alone. They are now aimed at adults, with adult content (read non-sexual content – which is another misconception by the general public) so there NEEDS to be a classification for those games that fall into that area, both here, and overseas. They do overseas, but they do not here.

I’m a 360-only gamer…and I love the exclusives, and normally-superior 3rd-party library….but this game isn’t one to watch. Remember ‘Bullet Witch’ and ‘Vampire Rain’? I sure do…and this game will suffer a similar fate.
