First V8 Supercar in-game screenshot.

Well OXCGN is always trying to get as much news as possible on Turn 10′s excellent racing sim, Forza 3 and we haven’t let our fans down yet. But now finally we have unearthed something no one else has (yet). We’re the very first to let you know that yes, the V8 Supercars ARE coming to Forza 3 (we all knew that), but here’s the very first in-game screenshot to prove it really is a definite 110% certainty.
So you heard (read) and most importantly – “saw it here first at OXCGN”.
Aussie V8 Supercars
Here you have the very first screenshot of the Team Vodafone V8 Supercar of Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes, looking right at home on the tarmac at one of Forza 3′s great circuits – but which one we ask??? The car is their current Team Vodafone V8 Supercar, but Jamie switches teams in 2010, heading back to Holden’s Commodores camp as of January 1st.
NOTE: Car is no longer a Ford V’s Holden affair due to Ford’s dropping of support for the ‘brand’ in the series, a source over at Xbox.com.au (derangedFIREFLY) sent us this to help clarify the issue.
Here’s some real-world shots of the Team Vodafone Ford for you to puruse over.
We are unsure of the track shown at this time, so if anyone has any ideas or clues as to it’s location, then we’d be really greatful, as our source that ‘leaked’ the image and info has no idea, and simply knew that OXCGN was a huge fan of the game, and “thought this funny looking car might be of interest”, as it was unlike the other shots coming out of Turn 10 and might be of some interest . . . . well hello – h.ell yes, we’re definitely interested!.
Unfortunately at this time, there is still no firm confirmation of whether or not there will be any Aussie tracks in Forza 3. But rest assured, the Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes Vodafone Ford will be just one of the V8 Supercars flying your way come October 23rd 2009, and as usual, if the release goes like all other major 1st party titles, Aussi gamers will be playing Forza 3 18 hopurs ahead of our Nth American cousins, although our New Zeland brothers-n-sisters willhave had it for 2 hours before us – bugger.
Rest assured though, just as soon as we “find” more images, we’ll have them up for you asap.
Aussie Tracks
While we are unsure of the track shown in the pic above, I’m really hoping that there will be some great Aussie tracks in Forza 3. As it would stand to reason that some of the best V8 Supercar tracks reside right here in Australia, which bring out the very best in this particular racing breed.
Perhaps Bathurst, Phillip Island, Sandown, Eastern Creek, Adelaide Street circuit or even Surfers Paradise (are you listening Turn 10?!). These would be great circuits to include, as it would give not only Australian and New zealand race fans a chance to bash their own turf, but allow the millions of other Forza 3 fans a chance to work their way through ‘the pack’ on some of the fastest circuits in the world for this type of racing series.
Many an overseas driver has ventured ‘Downunder’ to beat our circuits, only to end up near the end, or worse, a casualty of the tuff Bathurst, Sandown, Eastern Creek and Phillip Island tracks which are renowned for their unforgiving cambers, corkscrew twists and sharp turns after 300kph bursts. Unlike many of the flat tracks around the world, these track demand a constant edge from the driver at all times.
Australian’s have always been keen on racing, especially the V8 Supercars series that has been running around the nation and over in New Zealand for some years now, and it would be a shame if at least some of the world famouse tracks didn’t show up in Forza 3, seeing there’s over 100 tracks appearing in Forza 3.
An extension of the original Bathurst 1000, it became a series that would expand to become one of the worlds fastest and toughest racing sports known to the racing fraternity the world over.

Nascar rules! I just wish that Jimmy was doing better this year.
Didn’t I heard that Forza 3 will have stock cars? Like NASCAR’s? Would definitely be cool. I know that Turn 10 is still holding back some secrets.
Check out Turn 10′s website forzamotorsport.net
Fords suck! Holdens rule!
other way arround my friend.
well i hate both but ive never herd of this happening to a ford.
my friend has a 2008 holden SS and in 6 months he has had his engine replaced 3 times, he drives it less than 3 hours per week and is a very very slow driver, never revs the guts out of it.
another story.
my ex boss bought a brand new holden senator one of his best friends worked for holden,it was ready to pick up so they rang him.
before he got there they gave it a test drive and something with the steering was rely badly wrong like fatal wrong.
so his friend told his boss ill ring the guy and say its delayed we need to get a new one for ya, and his boss told him nah its fine, its under warranty if something happens he can bring it back.
yea like who cares if the guy kills himself because of the cars flaw.
so hes friend said ooooooooooooook, than rang my ex boss and told him, so he canceled his order.
i cant believe a company could be that shoddy, selling a product which could be lethal thats as low as you can get.
is forza 3 going to have licence modes like previous GT games have?
ive allways found that to be the best part of those games, completing the tests in a set time.
i hope they mix and change the races your doing, like mix circuits and sprints, mayb ad some drag races and DRIFTING.
may be some burnout challenges, or a lap mode where you have to total each others car and who ever deals the most damage in the time limit wins.
they need something to spice it up, driving arround in circles for 1 hour is ok enjoyable but do it hours on end and it gets boring.
@dylantalon
This not a very good shot of FM3 as we can all see but the FACT is FM3 will have the best physics on any console (almost on par with PC sims), some of the BEST A.I in a racing game and lets not forget the Lamborghini Reventon.
The biggest difference is, FM3 is a RACING simulator, not a DRIVING simulator.
true words mate, The number of would-be-sim-racers that have tried and failed at Race Pro are testament to the fact, most have no idea between racing sim and driving sim . . . Most “console racers think Race-Pro is crap, simply because – well – they can’t beat it or race properly. Which means:
1) Following race lines,
2) not getting black flagged
3) not cutting corners,
4) not shunting others in order to win
5) not using the walls as brakes or other cars.
6) having some thought put into the game
7) racing longer than 5 laps, which seems to be the extent of ‘some’ “racers” (and I use that word very loosely btw)
Yes, Forza 3 will have dumb-down-mode for those who love the arcade racing many like, but the backbone of the game is Racing Simulation.
If this game doesn’t have the Aussie circuits they may as well not bother with V8 supercars at all. Bathurst is a must and the most likely to be included as it’s the most internationaly recognised, due to it’s TV coverage over the decades. Leave out Surfers though ‘cos that track sucks for V8s to race on. Single file yawnfest.
My biggest gripe over this game and with MS is that I cant use my logitech G25 race wheel with it. The 360 wheel is rubbish in comparison and I can’t see myself buying one. No wheel = no racing on 360 for me = no game sale for MS or Turn 10.
We’ll have a Fantec Porsche 911 Turbo up for grabs which has been built for Forza 3, check our Fantec article for details mate, the top of the line model even has fully adjustable billet allow pedals and fittings. Fantec make excellent quality wheels, always have done, always will.
We also have one of their top level units and the medal pedals to fit to our OXCGN Forza 3 Racing Cockpit we hope top be building with CyberKart, GAME and Fantec.
I’m pretty sure that the track is Sedona, it’s a new fictional track set in Arizona.
thanks, any other takers?? We may have some special news on the 3rd September as well, as something is happening Sept 2nd we can’t discuss – just yet here in Australia, so stay tuned, should be awesome.
wow this game looks horrible common 360 step it up
why don’t you shut up and go play it then…
gt5 prologue looks better than this gamewith twice as many cars on the track, realistic physics and realistic damage modeling . forza 3 will be good for arcade racing fan but the real driving simulator is gt 5.
xbl/psn- dylantalon
oh please, let’s NOT get into that shit . . .Mines bigger than yours . etc. Both games serve different audiences, eachwill have saving graces, each will have its flaws, yes, even GT5 . .but then again, GT5 might not even be out this year, perhaps around Christmas time, but no firm date has been set, and at this stage, dates are usually made public around 4-5 months prior to release. It’s now the middle of August (8th month) . . . so who knows when it will come out.
NOt evengoing to bother justifying myself or the game and site on here, if you want to play fanboy, then go elsewhere, no one wants you here.
gt5 is the real driving simulator…
Forza is the real racing simulator…
