We all love a good looking game presentation, and this time, the guys at Turn10 haven’t let us down with the arrival of the Forza 3 Limited Edition pack.
Unlike other Limited Editions which usually are a ‘cover-slip’ which goes over metal tins, which are great, don’t get me wrong, this time they have opted for something a little more in keeping with “opening up the game” – so to speak.
The game comes with a beautiful book style case that house the 2 discs, booklet, 1 keyring, 1 2 gig usb stick, Xbox Live Gold code and of course the game, plus the very special Forz3 VIP pass which will give you access to areas others can not gain. No big fancy model cars or figurines, just something simple, yet distinctive.

Game Features:
• Where dreams are driven: The cars and tracks. Featuring the latest and greatest production offerings as well as the world’s fastest and most exotic street cars, “Forza Motorsport 3” offers more than 400 fully customizable and tunable cars from over 50 of the world’s leading manufacturers.
• Whether your passion is classic American muscle cars, European roadsters, purpose-built race cars or high-tech Asian imports, “Forza Motorsport 3” puts you in the cockpit of the cars you love.
• In addition to the return of world-famous tracks from previous “Forza Motorsport” games, including Suzuka, Nürburgring Nordschleife and the Sebring International Raceway, “Forza Motorsport 3” invites you to conquer the corners on more than 100 tracks, including some of the most beautiful road courses in the world.
• New environments like the gorgeous mountainous Montserrat region in Spain, the rugged Amalfi Coast in Italy and the American Southwest are presented in such majestic detail that you might find yourself pulling over just to take it all in.
• The look and feel of a modern racing game: “Forza Motorsport 3” is the definitive racing game. The appreciation of the automobile in “Forza Motorsport 3” is due in large part to the team’s attention to detail. This is why automotive engineers from manufacturers like Audi and champion race teams like Peugeot as well as experienced computer graphics specialists from across Microsoft Corp. have all teamed up with Turn 10 to make “Forza Motorsport 3” the most beautiful and realistic racing game ever made.
• All 400-plus cars in the game have been built with more than 10 times the amount of polygons as “Forza Motorsport 2.” This includes painstakingly researched cockpits and interiors for every vehicle. But realism isn’t just about pretty graphics.
• Turn 10 takes realism to new heights, leading the industry with the most advanced physics model, artificial intelligence and damage calculations. Whether it’s the differences in how each car handles through the corners, how the engines sound at top speed or how different tires and upgrades impact your car’s performance, you’ll find yourself leaning into your turns as if you were really behind the wheel of your favorite ride.
• It’s easy to go for a spin: “Forza Motorsport 3” redefines the racing genre. Simulation games can be too hard for some players. “Forza Motorsport 3” rises above the distinction between simulation and arcade games. Using a myriad of cutting-edge driving and gameplay assists such as auto-braking, gameplay rewind and auto-tuning, “Forza Motorsport 3” delivers an experience where everyone can have fun behind the wheel, regardless of your skill and dexterity. Whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned racing game pro, “Forza Motorsport 3” caters to how you drive and evolves with you over time as your skills increase.
• Express your car passion: User-generated content and Xbox LIVE. Painters and tuners will once again be able to showcase creativity through the celebrated Livery Editor, Auction House and deep tuning garage in “Forza Motorsport 3.” The car is literally the artistic canvas as some of the world’s most creative car painters and designers find new layers of depth and freedom to create shocking visual masterpieces before sharing them with others over Xbox LIVE.*
• Each car in “Forza Motorsport 3” is fully upgradable, allowing gear heads to take on the challenge of turning a Honda Civic into a supercar killer. New Xbox LIVE Leaderboards celebrate not only the greatest racers but also the most prolific car tuners and painters in the community.
• Play your way: New game modes. “Forza Motorsport 3” is an epic racing game featuring more content and more ways to play than any racing title today. An innovative single-player season mode puts you through a completely personalized racing calendar that includes more than 200 different events, including Circuit, Oval, Drag, Drift and Timed Events. No two calendars are the same; they react to the cars you love and the races you enjoy most.
• In addition, the online multiplayer mode* gains an all-new game rules editor. This gives players a never-ending variety of ways to play with friends. Whether you’re a speedster, dragster, drifter, painter, tuner or just a lover of cars, “Forza Motorsport 3” is the definitive racing game for you.
All of which sounds excellent, and it has certainly fueled my passion into the game, which has never really left, and I look forward to the times I can chip away at lap records, paint my pride and joy and show it off to everyone.
Forza 3 Update 19th August #2
Well it doesn’t rain, it just pours.
So here’s a huge number of cars to ponder over, some of which include “2008 Audi A4 Touring Car, the 2009 BMW M3 GT2 #92 belonging to Rahal Leterman Racing. No lightweights either as it comes in at just over 1 tonne and featuring 476 horsepower, the Audi A4 Touring car covers a lot of ground in very little time.
While the BMW M3 GT2 #92 Rahal Leterman Racing will challenge most players, it’s got a whopping 491 ponies, bucket loads of mechanical grip and a very sweet 50/50 weight distribution.
Then we best not forget the other major stables either, such as Lamborghini, and it’s the most powerful, expensive and rarest of all Lamborghinis, the Reventon.
The 2008 Lamborghini Reventon is a full-tilt thrill ride that will leave even the gutsiest of drivers with a fevered brow and white knuckles. The supercar’s V12 unleashes a massive 641 brake horsepower. It costs over a million dollars and only you’ll be hard pressed to get one, as there were only 20 of these beauties ever made.
What about Nth America?
And we can’t forget our friends in Nth AMerica, now can we. With the appearance of the all-American 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. Sure, it might cost a great deal less than its European counterparts, but it will most certainly given them something to think about while chasing each others tails around the tracks.
It comes with a generous amount of supercharged V8 power, carbon ceramic brakes and a barely detuned race suspension, and it’s known that the 638 brake horsepower ZR1 can click up to speeds of more than 300 km/h. And that aint hay in any racers language.
Yes yes, but we want more
But of course, not everyone loves the supercars or the race proven V8 Supercars that will be appearing in the game from Australia. SO there’s some old tried-n-proven diehards in the mix this time, even right down to the little Datsun 1600. Yes, you read it right, the Dato 1600 sedan makes an appearance.
And if youy think the humble Dato is a waste, I stuffed a 327 Chev, followed up by a 2 speed Powerglide and Ford GT 9″ rear under one of these little puppies, albeit the commercial version (ute). I can tell you this, it certainly pulled a lot of head when it lite up at the lights. But back to Forza 3.
So there’s also a couple of highly regarded, high performance speedsters such as the 1995 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec, the very boxy loooking 1993 Ford SVT Cobra R. This car was built with the racer in mind, and comes fitted with just the essentials as it’s been stripped down of everything from the factory, the 1993 Ford SVT Cobra R is a pure powerhouse from Ford.
Fitted with much larger brakes, stiffer coil springs, Koni shocks, larger anti roll bars and a strut tower bracing were added to increase performance at the factory. There were just 107 of these 1993 Cobra R models produced, making it one of the rarest, fastest, and most collectible Fox Body Mustangs of all time.
Last and but definitely not least is the excellent 1997 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec which rides lower than standard GT-Rs, come fitted with race-tuned shocks and springs. These Skyline GT-Rs have one of the biggest upsides on Forza 3 from a modification standpoint so you’ll want to really consider the effort you’ll put into while you have it in your very own Forza 3 tuning garage.
But without further ado, here’s the balance of these fine beauties, and some of the others made available on the 11th which show some of the European and Japanese older and swift racers. There’s many a keen racer out there dying to get their hot clammy hands on some of these beauties, that’s for sure, so we hope these images from Turn10 suffice for now, well until 23rd Oct (Aust release date) that is.
Forza 3 Update 19th August #1
Well OXCGN is always trying to get as much news as possible on Turn 10’s excellent racing sim, Forza 3 and we haven’t let our fans down yet. But now finally we have unearthed something no one else has (yet). We’re the very first to let you know that yes, the V8 Supercars ARE coming to Forza 3 (we all knew that), but here’s the very first in-game screenshot to prove it really is a definite 110% certainty.

fair enough, I can live without the ‘Supercar’ part, I just want some commodores in there! lol
Can we get some pics of Commodores yet?! I MUST know!
Might well have some come Sept 3 mate . . . 100% sure that we will actually. BUt we’ll just have to wait-n-see what teams and liveries willbe running, and how many of them there will be included in the game.
I’m sure they can’t afford all the teams, so don’t expect the full field of Aussie V8 Supercars to appear. COst on that would be prohibitive to say the least.
