Forza 3 Update 12th September #4

Forza 3 World First – Bugatti Veyron’s first game appearance.

FM3_gonegold_1Yet another first for Forza 3, the world renowned superstar supercar, The Bugatti Veyron appears in Forza 3.

While the car has appeared in other computer games (incl racing sims) in the past, the big difference in Forza 3 is that you’ll not only have the chance to drive the 1000 bhp beast, but spend time painting, make wheel changes and other personalisations on one of the worlds most famous supercars.

Forza 3 Demo Arrives Septmber 24th on XboxLIVE

Not only has Forza 3 brought you the heavy-hitters – V8 Supercars, it now tops the list with the Superstar of Supercars. These licenses do not come cheap, and not that readily either.

Many gamers often complain that game developers should add this-or-that car, or add this-or-that track , make sure you developers do this modification or allow changes to this-n-that- the demands go on, just check out the 1500 odd comments below in our Forza 3 main page.

Some demands are often ludicrous when you think about it. They forget the huge expense and effort that goes into just getting the rights to allow the digital reproduction of a vehicle in a game, let alone the painstaking work of reproducing the car in fine detail for use in the game.

• Forza 3 welcomes the Bugatti Veyron

This movie requires Adobe Flash for playback.

Gamers these days demand excellence and fine details by the bucket load. Forums, boards and comments sections are littered with ‘demands’ from angered gamers, however, I feel once they take a look at the huge effort that goes into getting just ONE car, such as the Bugatti Veyron into a game, many will begin to think differently- or perhaps they won’t.  One can only live in hope.

• Let’s lap Sedona Raceway

This movie requires Adobe Flash for playback.

Forza 3 goes Gold:

The new demo lets you get behind the wheel of five of the world’s most amazing cars on the full circuit of the game’s Camino Viejo track. The demo includes five playable cars:

  • 2007 Porsche #80 Flying Lizard 911 GT3-RSR
  • 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro
  • 2009 Ferrari California
  • 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR
  • 2009 Mini John Cooper Works

• Forza 3 goes to the drags

This movie requires Adobe Flash for playback.

Check the last segment out as the Dodge SR8 launches off the Snake-pit course.

You will be able to drive all of the cars in the demo in full cockpit view as well as experience damage, rollover and try out the game’s new rewind feature as you take turns on a beautiful Spanish mountain course inspired by the Montserrat region just outside of Barcelona, Spain. When logged into Xbox LIVE, the demo will also support official leaderboards for lap times, giving you a further taste of what players will experience in “Forza Motorsport 3.”

With today’s Gone Gold announcement and the recent announcements around the fan-designed R8 V10 5.2 FSI quattro and the exclusive Limited Collector’s Edition (which includes 10 exclusive bonus cars, VIP community status, and more), there has never been a better time to pre-order “Forza Motorsport 3.”

Additionally, Turn 10 is proud to unveil the first collection of Forza Motorsport-branded clothing and accessories for your Xbox LIVE avatar. Included in our first batch of gear are the following items. Check out the pictures below. The prices for Avatar gear will vary between 80 to 320 Microsoft Points.

  • 4 T-shirt prints featuring logos from new tracks in the game
  • Forza-branded Racing Shoes
  • Forza-branded Baseball Cap
  • Forza-branded Fingerless Racing Gloves
  • Forza-branded Leather Jacket
  • 2 Racing Helmet (in white or black)
  • Forza-branded Race Driver Fire Suit

The Forza Motorsport 3 demo and all Avatar items will be available on Sept. 24.

See you at the finish line!

We have all heard the supposed rumour of the Forza 3 Super Elite Bundle due to be released alongside the game come October 23rd – 27th 2009.

While we have seen many a report on the early announcement and subsequent removal of the item on Amazon Germany, and BT Games, and a South African retailer on 27th and 29th August respectfully, one can only come to a logical conclusion that there’s a 250 gig 360 inbound.

Not officially of course, just my gut feeling, based on lots of details being joined over time.

I think you need to drop the whole first racing game/sim with the Bugatti Veyron. At best it’ll be the 5th game with it and 3rd racing sim with it. It’s been DLC in Pro Street and was in Undercover and will be in Shift which is out first. The Veyron is also in Supercar Challenge which is currently available and definitely a sim.

Devs shouldn’t give in to every whim of the gamers but I bet they get some good ideas from them.

    Looking forward to the demo.

        No worries. That’s fine.

I’m a car nerd and we have a tendency to pick at things. Sorry.

so am I mate, have had a chevy powered XJ6 with Turbo 400 and it was QUICK, as Datsun 1600 ute with a small block and Powerglide and “big-n-littles”, a Standard Ten (English car – do a google) with a red hot Holden six stuffed in where a very small 4 once sate, and several others. Ran a custom bodywork and custom paint shop for bikes, vans and street machines. So yes, understand cars and love them. Do yourself a favour and grab Erik Bana’s The Beast, great self doco and great For XB Coupe as well.

I agree totally with what the author says about the gamers demands being ludricus. They expect a game with everything they want in it to be done yesterday and if the game doesnt have what they want they cry like spoilt children.

    first game appearance?
thats not exactly true, it was in need for speed undercover.
why o why does all the good stuff have to come out at the same time?
since late june there has been nothing to play besides batman AA.
now next week we have the forza 3 demo, the ninja gaiden 2 demo, the uncharted 2 demo and i still have not had a chance to check out section 8.
    than halo ODST comes out.
lets try and spread this stuff out its ridiculous

Good pickup, and just as I was amending it to be more specific – I meant racing sim or major racing game, not arcade style game.

And I agree with the flood of games at this period, however, they do need to get games out to match the punters spending periods, and ideally that is towards the later part of each year, sadly. Eachgame really only has a very small window of opportunity to make huge sales, it’s actually just 2 weeks, an din the first 5 days, the game mas to reach its peak sales in order to cover its costs and begin the recoupe stages. This is why we now see a huge run of Collectors editions and Limited Editions that are pre-order only.

This ensure early sales, bolsters shareholders thoughts about their investment (as they can see pre-release sales figures) and at busy times is when the big money flows. We’re running a 2-3 part article on Collectors Editions reall soon, so you’ll get more details on the whys and wherefores around the new marketing ideas behind these, and tight sales windows for game. They are unlike movies, and unlike music, both of which can sustain long periods of ongoing sales. Games do not do that by nature, so quick sales, in high spending periods are required.

i wish i had that guys job.
he got to see the car in real life, not only that but take measurements of it, sit in it, smell the interior.
god 99.99% of people will never see that in their life.
hopefully once i strike it rich Bugatti will still be making it so i can buy one.
