These guys still have the Forza 3 Limited Edition available as well
October 23rd is going to be a big day for any racing fan, and as Friday approaches, many people will be revving their engines on the drive home, cranking up the bass, and maybe doing a burnout in a safe area. All just for the anticipation of Forza 3′s imminent release.
Well OXCGN has got their hands on a Limited Collectors Edition of Forza 3 already and we thought we would share the un-boxing love with everyone.

Are optional extras worth it on this ride?
…Let’s just ignore that little yellow sticker that says “DO NOT PLACE ON SHELVES UNTIL OCTOBER 23rd” for the time being shall we… So where were we . . . oh yeah, moving right along.
Pull off the slip cover to discover this . . . . looks nice satiny and very sleek. Hmmmm, it opens up very nicely, very good so far. What, not metal! Yep, however it sure feels nice and solid for a cardboard box.
And there it is, the Forza 3 Limited Collectors Edition open in front of me. Yep its got some nice furry stuff on the inside. Mmm. The Furry stuff seems to get over everything inside the box, but where is my nice 360 logo on the spine . . . bugger.
Ahhh . . Australian racing pride rises, the wonderful sight of the back of the box, Pure V8 Supercar Aussie pride shining through! They are awesome creatures those Commodors. Oooo . . . Lots of paperwork, nice – I think?
So what do I think?
Well the Keyring and 2gb USB stick are there in all their glory…. Keyring feels pretty solidly made for what it is. Although it does look somewhat basic for a car keyring and USB holder. The USB stick . . . is well . . . it pretty much looks like a stock standard usb with the Forza 3 logo on.
Yep, that was quite disappointing really – sadly.
The DVD case has a Halo 3: Legendary edition feel about it. The front of it looks nice, the back of the case has nothing printed on it besides the colour black. I miss the ‘Xbox 360′ logo that should be on the spine of the DVD case… Now its going to look so damn funny on my shelf next to all my other Xbox 360 game logos.

Booklets Galore! The Manual is quite small, but has colour pages which is nice. The bonus Limited Edition DLC feels kinda lame when compared to the Add on Pack that every version of Forza 3 gets as it seems better.
Well people, that’s all I can say on this one folks. No major Collectors Edition goodies to be found here,even after looking under every conceivable crevice. Still, I can say I have one if someone asks.
In my opinion, and speaking from an overall point of view, the Forza 3 Collectors Edition is NOT worth the extra $20 (or more depending on sales etc). To be honest, the best thing about this CE is opening the box up, it felt really good to open. But the big reveal was very anticlimactic.
The USB stick is a basic dull grey colour and while 2gb was the ‘standard’ a year or two ago, it seems to be more of a gimmick than anything else now that much large sized USB sticks are easily obtainable. The Keyring does feel really good, but it is very basic in design. And finally the prospect of getting 5 bonus cars in the CE is not really that tempting considering that there are over 400 cars in the game already.
What really would have finished this CE off would have been a tin case, and maybe a small model of an Audi R8 or maybe for us Australians a Holden or a Ford.
That being said, it isn’t an overly expensive Collectors Edition so if you are a fan of Forza you might find it to be a worthwhile Collectors Edition in some way or another.

yeah, it looks a little dissapointing sadly -_- certainly not mw2 prestige edition standard lol. I’ll probably just pick up the normal edition.
why are they so strict on the release dates for some games?
halo 3 ODST had the same thing.
why does it matter? if the games done and ready to be released RELEASE IT! i dont see the point in it sitting in the back store for a few days or so.
some games are like this and are absolutley not released till there release date like gears, gears 2, halo 3 ODST, this, KZ2, haze, uncharted 2.
but than take almost every other game, its out 2 days or so before its release date.
like brutal legend and operation flashpoint 2 dragon rising were not suppose to be out until the Thursday i picked them up on the Monday.
Anyway sony really needs to take a leaf from MS when it comes to limited editions.
every LE of a ps3 exclusive i have bought ive been disappointed, KZ2 got a crappy tin case.
uncharted 2 got a cardboard sleeve and exclusive DLC
i was so praying for a batman AA type limited edition for uncharted 2 and was so disappointed when i found out there only doing a crappy cardboard sleeve.
this is why the 360 is kicking the crap out of the ps3 here in OZ, because MS know how to market games and they know how to treat there customers.
not like there gum under there shoe.
speaking of advertising im STILL seeing adds for halo 3 ODST 1 month after release and have not seen 1, not 1 add for uncharted 2.
or NGS2 for that fact.
