R18+ Rating For Games Rally in Brisbane on 5 December
PRESS RELEASE – OXCGN News Room
UPDATE: I just got an update about YET ANOTHER ONE refused classification: Aliens vs Predator has just been refused classification.
For full details and registration of interest, visit Facebook Page HERE.
For more information and OXCGN’s views check out the following articles which have been published over the last several months on the issue.
If YOU want games to be passed here in Australia that all other countries get, have the games rated in accordance with similar age rating levels overseas, and have more mature games clearly marked in an adult-only rating so parents have no excuse not to be more aware, then this issue IS something that ALL Australian gamers need to get behind.
Or, are you going to leave it to someone else to do, because you “don’t have the time”? If that is the case, then you have no right to complain when further draconian censorship is imposed here in Australia; you will have no one else to blame other than yourself.
• Doing nothing achieves – “nothing”.
• Doing something opens the door to “possibilities” that were not there before.
• Brisbane gamers and parents this is your chance to make a difference!

You can visit other Australian gaming sites, such as AllAgeGaming, to get their view on the matter, and help support their efforts as well as ours.
We all have one common interest, gaming, and to be able to do that and enjoy it to the level many gamers overseas believe to be ‘normal’ then Australian gamers need to lift their rear ends off the couches, use their digits for more productive results.
You can do this by attending these events wherever possible, and if not able to due to distance, work or other commitments, then putting ‘pen-to-paper’ (yes real writing, as Polies pay more attention to the written word that typeface) and let your local, state and federal member know your thoughts on the mater. In an adult manner naturally.

ill be there with pitchfork and flaming hay at the ready!
Good to hear mate. If you take any pics, video, or talk to ppl there, please do send them across to me and if you write some words on the event, (say upwards of 500 words), then we’ll gladly publish the item and the images (providing they pass our editors approval) when we cover the event as well.
This applies to anyone heading to the event. We may even make a Ficker page for all the images, so feel free to send as many as you wish.
Simply make sure they are a decent size, not over 1280×720 or 300dpi, and if possible, zip them and send them to our email address on the site.
The more coverage we have, the more public profile this gets, the broader the implications.
Remembering, this is NOT someone else’s problem, this is OUR problem, and WE are the only ones that can help change it – period!
sounds good.
just heard mr attkinson is trying to get MW2 banned.
o dear god, he does not know when to give up.
whats the point, its been out for almost a month.
aussie game stores like JBHIFI, EB and game are going to go broke thanks to this guy because soon people are going to buy everything online.
thats a great way to send your country out of recession, send all the revenue to the US.
brilliant.
in fact this guy should run for PM!
Two other games have been banned (Refused classification) in the last 7-10 days. Crime Craft for prescribed drug use (you are awarded point to purchase drugs to help heal) and Alien’s V’s Predator early this morning from SEGA.
I was wondering when MW2 was going to get the chop, and they can still do itm making all stock in stores illegal and unavailable for purchase, or pick up if on back order etc. SO if I were you (anyone) I’d slip down and get it toot-sweet, as you might find yourself having to import it from the UK or NZ. Where they have the correct classifications for games, unlike Australia’s backward thinking SA Attorney General, that will NOT listen to 91% of the Australian public.
He’s right, you are ALL wrong, he knows what is best for you, after all, “he’s protecting the children” remember – cough cough.
