OXCGN to get 4 hours Hands-On Практический

Well I’m certainly looking forward to this – THQ have invited some select media representatives for a “Behind Closed Doors” hands-on (Практический) at Microsoft’s special Games Media PR Gaming Room at Nth Ryde in Sydney on the 25th February.
To say I’m excited would be an understatement, as I’m finding this game to be one of 2010′s best RPG style First Person Shooters.
It’s a game that has been hidden from gamers for way too long, and sadly has not had the press it deserves. Which is a concern for me.
Why?
Many gamers these day are unable to keep abreast of all the games heading their way, and unless it is a major 1st party title, with a huge bank-rolled media campaign, the game can and often does slip under the radar.
In several forums, and on OXCGN, many comments have shown that not many have known about the game, or the unique style it has, nor the depth it will have for the gamer.
It’s not your average shooter that you can wander through in say 5-8 hours. The mission tree is enormous to say the least- it’s almost impossible to describe the depth of the maze and enormity of the map layout in Metro 2033.
This will enable gamers to spend literally hour upon hour inside the tunnels as well as above ground in post-apocalyptic Moscow, where both human factions and blood thirsty monsters are your foe.

Then we have the other side of the story.
Games that deserve greater coverage and playtime, do not get it.
The developer does not get the return on their investment, and what proved to be a valuable game with regards to gameplay, innovation, storyline etc., can end up on the scrap heap, while yet another piece of shovel-ware with a licenced character makes millions at the retail stores.
Ideally Metro 2033 will help gamers see that not all great games need to have a major 1st party developer attached to them in order to be successful, and that a new developer and a major 3rd party publisher can front a brilliant game and pull it off.
Thankfully THQ have taken Metro 2033 under their collective wings, and will do their usual THQ best to get the game out there to gamers world-wide.
A Special Hands-On Практический
All that aside, come February 25th, the group of media reps will be transported by a special THQ “Giant Car” (важная персона) (I’m thinking perhaps Hummer Limo? – as that certainly equates to “Giant Car”!) that will be taking us to the Microsoft Head Office, where we will be served some yummy food and drinks (кофейник & бутерброд с ветчиной), and each given access to an Xbox 360 to plonk our backsides down in front of for the whole 4 hours. Ahhh, gamer bliss and heaven . . .
OXCGN will have a detailed preview of Metro 2033 once THQ allow us to publish our comments after the event. There is usually a week of “strict embargo” after such an event for all media, so we’ll most certainly keep you updated as to when the preview will be up ‘live’.
Naturally we’re not a giant major multi-corporate owned media site like say Rupert Murdoch’s IGN and CNN’s huge GameSpot or Future Publication’s CVG & Edge groups etc, but as a small Indie site, but we do make every effort to get to everything we possibly can do, in order to give you a ‘real grassroots’ gamer’s perspective on the games coming out, without the corporate hub-bub that is usually associated with many larger sites these days.
To help tide you over until then, here is the most recent video which uses footage THQ compiled from sections of our last hands-on which we had only a few weeks ago, showing one of the first levels getting out of the tunnels in Metro 2033. Plus there are a bunch of new screens for you to check out.
• Metro 2033 Russian Style . . .
When the next Hands-On appears, expect a new video and a bucket load of new screens as well.
• Screens:
So sit tight, hang in there, and be prepared to be astounded by what Metro 2033 has to offer, and above all, Оставаться здоровым.

Is the video and the picks from the 360 version? If they are,it blow every other console game visually !It sure blows KZ2 visually and its near UC2 standards, lets hope gameplay matchs the best too!
Meh, indie sites never get anywhere financially unless they are network sponsored or owned. Good luck with it though.
On topic, hope you guys have fun with the review and bring us some juicy details.
mmmmmmm im still on the fence with this one, ill probably wait till reviews or a demo come through.
theres far to many games coming out this year, i dont have enough time let alone enough cash to play what i want as it is.
not to mention i have 3 games from last year sitting in my draw waiting for me.
wish tafe students could strike.
tafe teachers are striking almost every week for absolutely no reason so i think its our turn.
shame the teachers that go on strike are never my teachers
