–FEED START
• Call of Duty: Black Ops shown off.
• All add-ons for Call of Duty will be coming to 360 first for the next 3 years!
• Even bigger: Metal Gear is using Kinect!
• Gears of War 3 being shown, as expected.
• Gears 3 has mutations, 4 player co-op, weapon-swapping between players, 2 female characters, green pallet.
• New mode called BEAST!
• Ok, Molyneux is up for Fable 3
• Fable 3 ships October 26 2010, about the same as Fable 2 did.
• Dog is back! My fave part of Fable 2.
• New exclusive title from Crytek called Kingdoms.
• Halo Reach coming on
• Showing the campaign, as expected.
• The Elites also have the armour ability.
• Reach has space combat in vehicles! Hope they can get it right, it’s been a bit of a tricky area for others that have attempted it.
• Kinect time!
• Dashboard control going all ‘Minority Report’.
• Fast forward videos with hands, voice control.
• Nice! Zune music will finally be available. Should work great for custom soundtracks.
• Video conferencing, as expected.
• Let’s you video chat to people using Windows Live Messenger (MSN) on PC too
• Kinect follows you in the room! Good feature.
• ESPN on Live in HD.
• 3500 events per year! Wow.
• Avatars hang around on the ESPN hub.
• Voice control once again.
• Shows live feed and search
• Free for all Gold members! Very glad, no nasty extra fees!
• 6 Kinect launch exclusives
• Kinect Animals being shown, the guy’s playing hide and seek with the tiger. Seems to be getting pretty upset.
• Kinect Sports is from Rare, which is what we saw last night. Not sure about the name, very much cashing in on the ‘Wii Sports’ thing. Has at least 6 sports from what we can see.
• Kinect Joyride, the racing one from yesterday. Looks like they’re putting ‘Kinect’ before all the games for it.
• Uses full-body steering, not just hands.
• Kinect Adventures, seemingly a collection of multiplayer-focused games. Includes rafting, obstacles, etc.
• 3rd party games about to be shown now.
• Very interesting: the yoga stuff we’ve seen so far is NOT from Microsoft! It’s part of ‘Your Shape’ from Ubisoft.
• Exclusive as expected, and actually looking really good.
• Calibrates to body shape, that’s definitely something no other motion system can do.
• Has different modes, fitness regimes, menus, classes, personal trainers…they’re really kitting this thing out.
• Looks very smart, no more generic fitness programs.
• Even recognised her clothing when she took it off! This is definitely no EyeToy or PSEye.
• New Harmonix game from MTV games: Dance Central.
• Aaaah, this is the dance one we saw last night at the Natal / Kinect event. Could take off in a big way from what we saw. Time to replace Dance Dance Revolution as the dance sim in Japan?
• Got to point out none of these Kinect game require any input from a controller whatsoever. That includes menus.
• They’re showing how it teaches people the dance moves, slowing it down to step-by-step guides and not continuing until it recognises you’ve got it.
• 2 other people can jump in and play in the background – even BEHIND the person playing, and it still can track movement! Impressive stuff, we’re starting to really see exactly how the 3 cameras work together here.
• Kinect launching November 4, 2010.
• 15 titles at launch.
• Star Wars coming on! Force push, yeah!
• 2011, got a bit to wait for Kinect lightsaber goodness.
• Turn 10 is on! The Forza guys.
• We picked it! Head-tracking, steering, etc all coming for Forza 3.
• Designing thing, looks like alternate / augmented reality.
• Can walk around car, zoom in, open doors, even sit in the car!
• Got to wait to 2011.
• As we were all expecting, 360 ‘slim’ is official and black!
• Looking good.
• FINALLY! In-built Wifi! About time.
• 250gb, same price as old one ($299 US).
UPDATE: Looks like the New 360 ships in July in Australia, and is available at the end of this week in the US.
• Nice, OXCGN just scored a free one! Thanks Microsoft!
• And that’s a wrap!
So looks like you should run down to GAME today and get your preorders in before they’re snapped up. Remember, the Kinect event airs tomorrow worldwide, so you can guarantee once that’s up preorders will be selling out.
Thanks for following, some awesome news here. Who says Microsoft don’t have enough exclusives?
Check back with us over the next few days as we roam the E3 floors and score as much hands-on time with these gems as possible.
