Capcom Unveils Three New Blockbuster Titles.

Devil May Cry – Asura’s Wrath – Dead Risings 2: Case West

Never one to wait behind others, Capcom have announced at a pre-Tokyo Game Show showcase earlier this evening in Tokyo that they will be releasing 3 new titles.

Naturally we’ll be seeing major publishers such as the likes of THQ helping distribute and promote Capcom’s titles especially here in Australia. We’ll be certain to be filling you in with any and all info as we receive it.

The news straight from Capcom EU sees much-loved heroes return and a new IP announced.

Tokyo, Japan – 21.00 JST, September 15th, 2010 – Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that it has three new titles, Devil May Cry, ASURA’S WRATH and Dead Rising 2: CASE WEST, which are currently in development. The titles were unveiled to media from across the globe at an event in Tokyo earlier this evening.

Devil May Cry:

The next instalment of the multi-million selling Devil May Cry franchise, Devil May Cry sees Capcom collaborating with UK based Ninja Theory to explore new frontiers for the series. Devil May Cry is in development for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3.

From its debut on PlayStation 2 in 2001, the Devil May Cry series has been synonymous with stylish action, rewarding combat and a brash, smart-talking protagonist. This ‘Devil May Cry DNA’ remains but is now injected with a dark and brutal gameplay that promises to redefine the franchise.

Set against a contemporary backdrop, Devil May Cry will depict a duplicitous world where nothing is ever as it seems and the line between good and evil is constantly blurred. Spurred into action by the promises of a trusted relation, Dante bursts into this world intent on revenge at any cost.

Devil May Cry will retain the series’ signature mix of sword and gunplay but add additional weapons, all new powers and a revitalised gameplay system as players encounter the game’s devilish mix of enemies and navigate the rich, interactive environment.

A true collaboration, Devil May Cry sees the team at Ninja Theory joined by key staff from Capcom’s R&D division. Creative direction for the title will be undertaken by Ninja Theory’s Tameem Antoniades and overseen by Hedeaki Itsuno, who has worked on all previous titles in the series. DmC is being co-produced by Capcom’s Japanese and North American development operations.

Asura’s Wrath:

A brand new title scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system and PlayStation®3, Asura’s Wrath sees Capcom join forces with Japanese developer CyberConnect2. Inspired by Asian mythology and fused with science fiction, Asura’s Wrath will redefine the action genre by delivering unprecedented levels of dynamism, drama and interaction.

Once a revered deity, Asura was betrayed by his fellow gods and stripped of all his powers. Consumed by anger at the injustice he has suffered and swearing vengeance, Asura discovers he can use this fury to his advantage and turn it against his enemies.

By channelling his inner rage, Asura is now able to unleash devastating attacks and wreak havoc as he battles against the deities who have wronged him and their earthly forces. Inspired by episodic dramas, ASURA’S WRATH will be split into distinct sections with gameplay and narrative unfolding as one and building to a final climatic conclusion.

Dead Rising2: Case West:

Complimenting Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO, Dead Rising 2: CASE WEST will extend the Dead Rising 2 experience by delivering brand new content and the return of a familiar face.

Available exclusively on Xbox LIVE® online entertainment system following the release of Dead Rising 2TM, Dead Rising 2: CASE WEST will see Frank West team up with Chuck Greene for some serious co-op action. In co-op mode, Xbox LIVE®Gold members will see the two protagonists delve deeper into the reasons behind the Fortune City outbreak and provide further links to the Willamette incident.
