Captain America, Thor, The Hulk, Marvel Super Heros, Spiderman, Superman and the Green Lanteen, are just some of the names that live on in any a mans mind from his childhood. His heroes of long ago when the ‘Marvel
‘ comic book was the only form of futuristic entertainment that stimulated to mind into world far in the future.
No video games, pinball palours or mobile phones existed, which is something that would be and is completely alien to many gamers these days, as most have grown up with some form of home or personal entertainment of some kind.
Comic book heroes were the way to allow a child or young adult the means in which to escape their dull young world in the 40′s, 50′s and even 60′s, before the onset of ‘modern technology’ as we know it today.
So it’s a welcome relief to see the great Marvel team joining forces this time with SEGA rather than Capcom, and coming home once again with the tale of the world’s first Marvel Avenger – Captain America, but this time in a completely different medium, the home console.
For some gamers, the title Captain America: Future Solider might conjure up thoughts of ‘our’ future, but being true to form, unlike say Iron Man and The Hulks adventures of recent movie fame, is set in World War II, and finds our great hero battling the Nazi war machine that is about to unleash it futuristic machines against mankind.
The dirigibles and futuristic robots and jet planes were not that unreal. In fact, German led the war towards the end of WWII, and if they would have released the jet fighter of its kind months earlier, we might all be signing a different tune as our national anthem.

The Nazi war machine built the first jet fighter, used dirigibles, and armoured weaponry, which as you’ll see by the ‘Art work’s’ are not that far-fetched. The German Army used the ‘airships’ as the very first bombers in World War I, and brought aireal bombardment to a new level.
So what can we expect from our masked avenger, from the looks of the screens, we will be graced with a very serious looking game unlike the cartoony Spiderman style of games some developers have used over time.
For me, that’s a welcomed relief, as I prefer my games to have some level of belief so that I can become involved and drawn into the world of the super hero.
Once we get more detailed information, and some videos, we will most certainly keep you posted, so keep this space bookmarked for future news about Captain America: Future Solider.
It is great to see the departure from stylized art to more ‘realistic’ art than that represented in other iterations of super hero comic book games. SEGA and
