It’s very rarely these day that we get a genuinely awesome collector’s edition of a game. (See our article on this madness here!)
Luckily, the Killzone 3 Helghast Edition has given us some awesome goodies and we have a video to show us unboxing this gift from the gaming gods.

- Super Voucher that includes:
- Soundtrack and dynamic theme
- Double XP for the first 24 hours of multiplayer gameplay
- Full access to all weapons and abilities in first 24 hours of multiplayer gameplay
- Retro Map Pack, which includes two popular maps from Killzone 2
- Helghast helmet replica, opens to store two game cases
- Cloaking Marksman action figure by DC Unlimited, 6.5″ tall, not sold at retail
- Making-of video content
It’s been an extremely long time since I purchased a “special” edition of a title that I wasn’t disappointed with in some way.
Killzone 3 finally breaks the chain of bad collector’s editions, and it is most definitely well worth the $US130 in my opinion.
It does appear to be “inspired” by Halo 3‘s Legendary Edition, but it’s still an awesome collector’s item nonetheless.

The helmet is an essential part of this must-have edition for any fan of the game or a collector in general, and moreso for the Marksman figurine.
Plus, the large box looks awesome on my shelf! And of course, the extensive art book is awesome as well.
If only the soundtrack were physical, not digital, this edition would be even more of a true item that hardcore fans would HAVE to have to be able to sleep at night.
