Finally a Kinect game to get excited about?

UPDATE: July 2011: Limited Edition Star Wars Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle announced! click HERE.
I am an adult, albeit a highly immature adult, with a rather large collection of video games, comics and Friday 13th films. As an adult, I do the whole work thing and the socializing stuff as well as the ‘go out and act like a fool on the dance floor doing the thriller’…thing.
But there is one thing that gets me every time, whether I am in the middle of knocking out plates at work, studying new recipes or just sharpening my knife kit (I should mention that I am a chef) and that thing is Star Wars.
When I hear that iconic theme play, I want to stand on the nearest table, hand over heart and a tear in my eye and just remember the Empire in all its glory (rebels suck!).
So it was with great excitement that last year I did a little piece just before E3 on the Kinect and specifically Kinect Star Wars which had me jumping up and down, incredibly eager as I am a massive nerd for all things in both the cannon and extended universe of Star Wars.
To see both sides of the coin though, I was also thoroughly disappointed by the clear and shear LACK of Kinect Star Wars last year (I put my meager funds together and everything).
In fact I was disappointed by the lack of exciting Kinect games in general.
My dreams of a Star Wars party with me in my role as force flinging Jedi (or more probably, Sith) with my own Mos Eisley bar with frothing beverages fell by the wayside- that is, until recently.
• Kinect Star Wars video
This new E3 video, in all its glorious Star Wars nature, lets me believe again. It also made me panic as the money I had put aside for Star Wars Kinect the first time had been spent on stupid, ‘grown up’ things like bills and rent.
Now, compared to the video last year, it appears that all that time of waiting (and minor temper tantrums in stores) has been well spent. The folks at Lucas Arts have made the game look far more polished than it did in 2010.
The graphics appear sharper than they did, the demonstration of usable abilities within Kinect Star Wars were far more impressive (and left me a few little goose bumps and shivers of animated anticipation) not to mention the fact that there were differences in enemy types, from droids to troopers to my favorite of all, the cuddly terrifying Rancor.
• Star Wars Kinect at E3
Release has been pegged by Microsoft and Lucas Arts as being in winter this year, which to those of us in Australia (who are already in winter) means that we should see this bundle of joy being dropped off in summer, hopefully, and more than likely, in the lead up to Christmas.
