A Half-Life 3 Initiative

Indubitably, one of the greatest things about the gaming industry is its fan bases and communities.
Whether they’re continually garnering respect from the masses, or providing endless entertainment due to fanboy bigotry, they are the life of this industry.
The Half-Life (and Valve) community in general is an interesting bunch, with a single thread uniting them: the next Half-Life title needs to come out, and at that, needs to be validated.
Cue Operation Crowbar, an initiative to “coerce” Valve into speaking something concrete about the next iteration of Gordon Freeman.
Shock and awe
The movement has a simple goal: make Valve tell us something about Half-Life 3, because it’s been far too long and is very frustrating.
The objective? Send Valve crowbars. I’m not even kidding.
To quote the original poster of Operation Crowbar, “We shall not stop until Valve is up to their nipples in crowbars… or when the cease and desist orders come.”
Can’t send a crowbar? No problem. Email Valve pictures of crowbars – with no words – or post pictures on their Facebook page – with no words.
The goal is to send them as many crowbars as possible – be it actual or virtual – until they realize there is unrest within the fanbase, all while being silent… just like they have been.
As stupid as it may seem, it’s an extremely creative attempt at letting a franchise owner know that its fans mean business. The original thread can be found here.
Time, Dr. Freeman?
I implore all Half-Life fans to take part in this. Valve will most likely be overwhelmed (in a good way) and respond with some sort of information.
Although, with their track record, they will probably say something along the lines of “Half-Life 3 will feature the crowbar. Thank you for showing your enjoyment of the franchise!”
Are you going to support Operation Crowbar? Or do you think it’s nothing more than angry fanboys?
Another similar movement is in place, but with an official Steam group demanding that Valve offer better communication with its fanbase, currently at over twelve thousand members. It can be found here.
