At this time of the year, the gaming industry grounds to a screeching halt.
For one week only, the entire industry looks at the Los Angeles Convention Center, where the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) takes place and every major publisher and developer collectively make announcements and show off new product.
Valve, similar to Rockstar and Bungie, are typically low-key at the event. Even this year, they simply have a booth and are not taking press appointments, which leads to the assumption that no major announcements will take place.
Instead, we’ve been left with one interesting tidbit that’ll undoubtedly set Team Fortress 2 fans – dare I say it – on fire.
It’s getting hot in here
Taken directly from the official site, we’ve been graced with a date for the long-awaited Meet The Pyro video!
We now officially know that the last Meet The Team video, Meet The Pyro, will release… in 2012.
Now, that leaves seven full months in which to release it. And if we factor in Valve Time… that would put it anywhere from March to July 2013.
And that’s without factoring in a possible new game announcement at E3!
Pun regarding fire
Valve love to tease their fans.
E3 2012 will undoubtedly hold many ground-breaking announcements and revelations, with some thinking we’ll finally hear about the next iteration of the Half-Life franchise.
OXCGN will be on the show floor providing the best coverage around – coverage that has already begun.
Check out all of our E3 2012 articles, previews, interviews and more at the jump.
