Bringing Down The House

I love explosions.

I really do!

Games where you can demolish buildings and foes alike in fiery displays of power and destruction are games that I always have and will more than likely continue to enjoy.

That is precisely why when gifted with the review of Red Faction: Armageddon, I was thrilled and decidedly ecstatic about the concept of blowing up buildings, terrain and enemies all at the same time.

Is it a worthy successor to Guerrilla, or the same game with a new coat of paint?

Let’s go blow things up shall we ….

E3 2011: The Kinect Strikes Back: Kinect Star Wars

E3 2011: The Kinect Strikes Back: Kinect Star Wars

Finally a Kinect game to get excited about?

UPDATE: July 2011: Limited Edition Star Wars Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle announced! click HERE.

I am an adult, albeit a highly immature adult, with a rather large collection of video games, comics and Friday 13th films.  As an adult, I do the whole work thing and the socializing stuff as well as the ‘go out and act like a fool on the dance floor doing the thriller’…thing.

But there is one thing that gets me every time, whether I am in the middle of knocking out plates at work, studying new recipes or just sharpening my knife kit (I should mention that I am a chef) and that thing is Star Wars.

When I hear that iconic theme play, I want to stand on the nearest table, hand over heart and a tear in my eye and just remember the Empire in all its glory (rebels suck!).

Is this something to get excited about – hell yeah . . .

OXCGN’s Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days Review – Public Menance #1

Being a public menace never looked so fun

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is the successor to the 2007 third person shooter from Eidos Interactive (Square Enix), Kane and Lynch: Dead Men.

The two degenerates Kane and Lynch are back, but now they’re older, they’re tired and they’re in it for that fabled ‘one last job’ as they say.

It all begins as Lynch (James Seth Lynch) calls Kane (Adam “Kane” Marcus) to China to help him out with a big job with a lovely big fat final payout; just a simple bit of ‘gun-running’ from China to Africa.  All they have to do is meet up with their contact and they are set for a nice big fat payday. Public menace # 1 . . .

Star Wars Kinect- Is it a nerd’s dream?

“I have a bad feeling about this…”

No, this is NOT me!

I am a nerd first and foremost.

I admit this openly and freely, ignoring the funny looks I get for my ‘How to Kill a Zombie’ shirt and laughter from my ‘cooler’ friends as I regale them with tales of my exploits on Omega and the Citadel.

But there is one thing that I hold closest to my nerdy heart, and that thing is Star Wars, whether it be the classic fantastic three or the newer…not so fantastic three (don’t get me wrong, I am a Liam Neeson fan, but I really didn’t need to know where the force came from).

I love it all, from force powers to Death Stars to the droideka.

So when I was directed to a little video recently from one of the E3 presentation by one of my fellow OXCGNites, I couldn’t help but think my prayers had been answered: Star Wars for the Kinect?

Use the Force Luke . . .
