If you go to Ben's site, there's a discussion on how he did it (PS360 controller) . .It's by far the best controller ergonomically, and fits the average hand like a glove. Which is why Ben chose the controller in the first place.

I think there's also a sort of how-to on his site. The link is in the article, so just search for it in the body text on OXCGN and you'll find it mate. I know that the buttons might be interchangeable, but it's the circuitry that is different, which is what he tinkered with I believe.

The idea of the 360 controller is because it IS ergonomically designed, rather than simply a joypad with buttons to do a job.

If you grab a 360 controller and place your hands on it, you thumbs fall into the normal pattern where they would sit when relaxed.

Try this, relax your hands in a open but curled position as if you were going to clasp your hands, allow your fingers to touch slightly, do this as relaxed as you can, and do so with your thumbs upward as you would normally when clasping something.

Now note that your left thumb is actually forward in relation to your right thumb, and that they are "opposed" to each other rather than "next" to each other. And also notice where your first and second fingers sit in a relaxed pattern.

The thumbs fall in almost the exact same place the right and left hand analogue sticks fall on the controller, and the r/h and l/h first and second fingers fall where both triggers are and the inside edge of the first fingers lay where the r/h and l/h bumper buttons are.

Now, go and grab any PS controller, do the exact same thing and notice how you have to actually move your hands and fingers around, pull back your left thumb to meet the left analogue stick, and even pull back the r/h thumb to meet the corresponding analogue stick.

Then notice how the triggers on the PS controller, which are not actually real progressive triggers btw and the bumper buttons are. They are not ergonomically positioned, so that if you were playing with the controller for several hours, your hands would not feel relaxed at all, and actually contribute to acute fatigue and possible RSI.

The 360 controller is not like this at all. It was originally molded in several young adults hands in relaxed positions with foam that took the shape of the hands, from this they then slowly crafted a shape that fitted in with a large % of players hands and came up with what you see now, and did so with attachments in mind such as the Chat-pad etc. Which is why when it's fitted, it just seem like a normal part of the unit, rather than something tacked on.

One of Ben's biggest things with design is ergonomics, it's why he has designed several items for the handicapped and even a lefties controller and a single handed controller that simply fits into the palm of ones hands and allows for the normal function of closing and opening your palm to activate some functions.

This is the job of a GOOD designer, not designers that simply make this to sell goods. The PS3 PS2 etc controllers would have to be some of the worst controllers out, even 3rd party controllers follow normal ergonomic rules and functions, but Sony "know best" and you buy what they tell you to buy, not design things that work best for you.

The R* case is definitely one of the better case-mods around. I am still looking around for as many as possible, and have several I'll be uploading soon.

Once my older one passes it's warranty period, I'll be doing some work on the case, but right now, skinz are my thing.
