Too bad the vision for this game seems less clear, as what followed had me shaking my head in dismay. True survival horror seems to have died, an action-focused alien bursting from its innards to replace it.. . . . . more here
Neverwinter, developed by Cryptic studios which was recently acquired by Perfect World, is the first Free-to-Play MMORPG that could convince me to dedicate some extra time away from all the sequels and invest in its satisfying story and extremely robust combat system.

Aliens: Colonial Marines Hands-on Preview
Aliens: Colonial Marines isn’t just a one-trick pony, hyping itself as being the canonical sequel to the film Aliens. It’s also got a multiplayer component that, while being able to stand up on its own, can only be accurately described as “kick-ass.” . . . . more here

The plan is also to use E3 as a chance to get a feel for the industry, which is probably a bit like trying to gain an understanding of fluid dynamics by hurling yourself off Niagara Falls. . . . . more here

E3 2012: “Stealth” Games Are Evolving The Wrong Way
Taken at a glance, you’d have to think that E3 2012 would be a great showing for fans of the stealth genre. A new Splinter Cell? Hitman? Assassin’s Creed? Metal Gear game? That would have to be enough for anyone, right?.:. . . . . more here

Watch Dogs Game of the Show Makes Everyone Paranoid
Amongst all the sequels, rehashes and reboots, Watch Dogs is simply flawless, from the beginning of its 9 minute gameplay demo. When you’ve got Hideo Kojima, Tim Schafer and Whil Weaton all taking time out of their day to pop over to Ubisoft to see the game in person you know you have something amazing.:. . . . . more here
Splinter Cell: Blacklist: Blame Avatar Tech for Ironside Absence
Being a massive fan of the franchise since day 1 of the first title, I anxiously (but professionally) grilled our presenter of the game after our behind-closed-doors presentation at E3 2012. The answer is reasonable, but fans still may not be happy.:. . . . . more here

Timed Exclusives: Outdated Strategy?
It begs the question: does having timed exclusive DLC really sways the consumer into purchasing the product that has the DLC first? Does this business strategy really push sales of said game on the platform, or the platform itself?:. . . . . more here
New Splinter Cell: Ironside ‘Blacklisted’
Today, Ubisoft announced the next iteration in the franchise entitled Blacklist, and many warning signs blared in my head: little to no stealth was present, Sam looks young, the connection to Conviction was never explained.
And one of the most appalling: Michael Ironside will not be returning as the voice of Sam.:. . . . . more here
Diary of a PS3 Gamer at Microsoft’s Show

Did they succeed?:. . . . . more here
Sony’s E3 Conference: Is it Coke or is it Pepsi
Excitement was in the air as the Sony press conference kicked off with a sizzle reel featuring (of all things) a Playstation Move racing wheel.
Jack Tretton took to the stage with microphone issues to confirm that the sizzle reel got everyone’s heart pumping, so he says.
And he was right:. . . . . more here
Microsoft Presentation Too Predictable
The Demo ended and the audience lost their shit. Pretty standard E3 fare thus far.
The question is, while this looked amazing, were there any big surprises to come? As it turns out, no.
But lots more amazing footage, mixed with some that was just a bit underwhelming.

I love rumours.
I love hearing that a player might be coming to the team I support. Or rumours that the interest rates might be dropping.
