Hey there,
Where to begin… I’m 19 years old, out of school now and taking a year off from everything.  Even if it does get boring… it will be worth it.

Besides of course playing the occasional video game, I do many other things, such as hanging out with mates, working out at the gym, modifying and working on my car, watching movies and TV shows (I prefer a great TV show over a movie!), buying and selling on eBay, breeding birds, looking after my many pets and many other things.

But as this is a video game website I will focus most of this about that.

I enjoy working on the site mainly because it is a “Community Based” site, not some corporate run business, and is aimed at giving something back to the community, which is what I like to do.

Back in the day when I was much younger, I used to play a lot of video games, as I found them to be a great way to relieve boredom – something an only child like myself notices much more than larger families…

Anyway, I guess you could say that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, was the first game to really pull me right into the games universe that provided me with an amazing feeling of awe, and accomplishment.

Later on I foolishly sold my Nintendo 64 to get a Playstation 1…. At the time I just felt like a change. But it wasn’t until I played Final Fantasy 7, that I finally had a game to compare to Zelda, and both were amazing.

I guess that means that RPG/Adventure games are my favourites; I love a good narrative.  I like to figure out how certain scenes/music/text is used to make the audience feel emotion.  Just so I can enhance my knowledge of media production.

As I have aged to a late teenager, I find I now get bored much easier and quicker, and often only play games through once. I still enjoy nostalgia trips back to those classic PS1 and N64 games occasionally.

My enjoyment of multiplayer games such as ones on Xbox Live is less… I don’t play multiplayer very often, unless I can get a group of friends together where we can all laugh about as we play. I prefer the single player aspects of most games, especially those with strong stories.

So that’s about it, I figure that writing on this website is a great enjoyable hobby to do while I work out my future, which hopefully involves finding a good job, meeting a nice girl and settling down to a great life.

  1. yeah… not a fun time… still isn’t..

  2. holy shit you dislocated both arms!

  3. yeah! I still have my copy of Secret of Mana, unfortunetly my SNES has gotten to the stage where it takes like 20 restarts of the console to get a game going. So now I play it on a SNES emulator on the PC. Which is legal since I have the game :) and it looks a lot nicer in HD. Cant wait for a Nintendo Wii VC release.

  4. Ahh now the whole shadow thing in your gamertag makes sense………….. lol jk. Man, 2 dislocated arms, thats gotta be painful. My 1 dislocated knee is enough for me.

By the way Ben, you have exceptional taste in games. I have played through Zelda:OoT so many times and as you described it has to be one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences of all time. Secret of Mana FF7 & 8 are all in my top games of all time. Great to see another JRPG fan, their aren’t actually to many of us around :)

  5. oh yes, for the record i am not gothic or “emo” :D
