Most of our most-viewed articles of all time are in some way connected to Assassin’s Creed.

Ever since 2007 when we began, David Hilton — OXCGN’s resident old person — has been been conjecturing and offering guesses as to where the next games in the series will go. Nearly every single time, has has been right.

With the most recent rumors circulating about Assassin’s Creed 4 (or whatever it will be called) being pirate-themed, we bring you the final piece of the puzzle.

Ubisoft Showcases America’s Breaking Point

I’d go so far as to say that right now it’s a time of political turmoil for the United States of America.

Well, somewhat. We have the drawdown of our war effort in the Middle East. The battle for Obama’s health care is still raging. Our Presidential election occurs on November 6, and it’s arguably one of the most important ones in decades.

Assassin’s Creed 3 is one of the year’s most anticipated titles, vying for supremacy only a week before Microsoft encourages a new generation of voters to not partake in their civil duties by picking up Halo 4 instead of voting for our next President.

In accordance with our own “turmoil” and Independence Day (known more commonly as the 4th of July), Ubisoft have released a brand new trailer ‘mysteriously’ entitled “4th of July.”

The trailer was filled with hidden gems, and one major item stuck out to me.

After doing a bit of cross-referencing, I can confirm that one of America’s most historical events will unfold before the eyes of the player in Assassin’s Creed 3.

Honoring The True Assassin

Let me preface this piece by saying that I’m thoroughly impressed by what I’ve seen of Assassin’s Creed 3. In fact, I gave it “Game of the Show” honors for E3.

But do you recall the debut trailer for the original Assassin’s Creed, unveiled back at E3 2006?

It’s still the best game trailer that I’ve ever seen, and I vividly remember how amped it made me for a game that I had never actually seen in action.

Remember the scene? A public execution. As a knight at the gallows decries the actions of the accused, a figure appears on a tower high above the crowd. A split second later and he’s gone, vanished in the time it takes for a single ring to sound.

He’s on the ground now, and moving with purpose. He reaches the gallows, and dispatches the knights in a flourish of violent attacks, finishing the leader with a signature leap and hidden blade.

Then it’s off to the races, as pursuing guards struggle to keep up with the assassin’s acrobatic free-running moves. He reaches a church, makes a dramatic turn, then melts away into the crowd with casual ease.

It still manages to give new chills, even six years later.

But you’re probably wondering why I’m talking about an old Assassin’s Creed trailer when this article purported to be about Dishonored, aren’t you?

Can you see the future?

I love rumours.

I love hearing that a player might be coming to the team I support.  Or rumours that the interest rates might be dropping.

Most of all I like rumours that a favourite franchise’s next iteration will be announced at E3, like Thief 4 was awhile ago (where are you Thief 4???)

Here are 15 Games that are rumoured to be announced at E3 2012 and my feelings associated with them.

You have to decide yourself if these games being announced would excite you or not.  Feel free to comment below.
