far cry 3 blood dragon box art oxcgnWhat do you get when a development team decide to stay in on a Saturday night, get drunk and watch a dozen 80′s and 90′s B-Grade action flicks? Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Or, at least that’s how I’m hoping the idea was formulated by the geniuses at Ubisoft Montreal.

What started out as an April Fools joke (hich everyone believed it to be) quickly turned into something real when days after the 1st of April screenshots were being leaked online.

Fast forward to now and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon has finally been unveiled with a launch trailer encapsulating the era of VHS in the 90′s. From corny commercial to animation, it reminds me of Heavy Metal.

How bloody is this dragon?

Fantastically fresh or a dog’s breakfast?

Dragon’s Dogma confuses me for many reasons.

Some are small questions, such as whether to classify Capcom’s latest as a JRPG for the fact that it was developed in Japan, or a western RPG for the setting and gameplay that owes its styling to the likes of Tolkein and The Elder Scrolls.

However, most of the confusion comes from how I could possible assign a rating to a game that innovates the genre more than any other RPG in recent years, yet is so deeply flawed in the basics.

Dragon’s Dogma swings back and forth between providing both an immensely absorbing and intensely frustrating experience on a regular basis, but let’s start from the beginning.
