One of the absolute worst ramifications a console manufacturer can deal with is that of the lack of software at the system’s launch.

Take for example the Nintendo 3DS. Few big, recognizable names – and at that, of first party nature – were at the system’s launch, which undoubtedly led to the initial losses and swift price cut.

Eager to hit Nintendo where it hurts most, Sony has launched the PlayStation Vita with both new IP and familiar faces, most notably being Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

It’s not made by Naughty Dog, and it’s near-impossible to believe that Sony Bend have matched so perfectly the story and formula we all know and love.

Golden Abyss embodies much of the AAA excellence we expect from the Uncharted franchise, but in handheld form.

If I was asked to name one of the PlayStation 3‘s flagship franchises that would come to define both the platform and this generation as a whole, the obvious answer would be the Uncharted series.

Boasting a bold, adventurous gameplay style, a breathtaking visual display that increases exponentially with each iteration, a story that everyone can enjoy, and over the top action, Uncharted is one of many series that have come to represent this generation console gaming.

Uncharted 2 as far as I’m concerned is a masterpiece.

Uncharted 3 isn’t a generational leap like from the first title to the second, but it’s still a highly commendable title that fans – and even newcomers – will still enjoy.

Another E3 has come and gone, and we are all left with tremendous anticipation for the games heading our way this holiday season, and many more to come in the following 12 months that often slip through the cracks with such a huge event.

For some of you, you may be experiencing withdrawals at this point.

Or, you may have missed parts (of the whole) of the show entirely, needing that post-event fix to keep you in the loop.

But fear not fellow gamers, for OXCGN is bringing you our top trailers from E3 2011 [in no particular order of course]. We’ll look at some of the major AAA titles, as well as some of the ones that slipped through the door-cracks.

Some games that are always in the lime-light get all the attention of course, but there are also some great games that always seem to show up later on in the year, and many gamers often wonder where they came from.

We recommend that you sit back, relax, grab yourself some refreshments, and prepare for pulse-pounding action. We’ll supply some basic information on the games as well for you to digest.

Special Editions have often been different depending on the region you buy them from. Especially good examples of this are the Assassin’s Creed franchise games, which had dramatically different Limited Editions.

Uncharted 3′s Special Editions for North America, Australia and Europe have been announced and detailed, so how does their content compare?

They initially seem very similar…but they do appear to have interesting differences, including 2 versions for Australia and Europe.
