At E3 2012, EA had an impressive lineup of titles that seemed to have continually gotten better with each new game that I saw. Most Wanted is a modern day re-imagining of arguably the best Need for Speed game ever released, Need For Speed Most Wanted.

Criterion have already re-modernized Need for Speed with Hot Pursuit (2010) which won multiple awards and is the highest rated Need for Speed title in the franchise.

They brought to Need For Speed what made Burnout an amazing game: an open world racer with the freedom to go anywhere and do anything.

Most Wanted seems to combine the best of both Burnout: Paradise and Hot Pursuit giving it a good chance of following in the same foot steps as Hot Pursuit.

E3 2012 has come and gone, but for members of the media, it’s still going.

I like to separate E3 into three stages:

Stage 1: Preparation

Stage 2: Madness

Stage 3: Try To Live Life Without An Editor Breathing Down Your Neck.

As we’re obviously in the height of the third and final stage, we now present our E3 awards.

From best shooter to best take on a new genre to game of the show, we have a robust list chosen by our staff who attended the show.

Did your favorite game win?  If not, vote for your Top 5 Games of E3 2012 in the poll below.

Games!

Games are ultimately what draws the press from around the world to Los Angeles for E3.  The chance to see, play, and preview the newest announced or displayed games from around the globe.

But that’s just for the press.

We don’t want you to completely miss out though, or wait for long detailed descriptions on the games you want to know about now.

So we are running around like chickens with our heads chomped off (by ZombiU zombies?) to give you mini-previews of as many games as possible.

Each day we’re going to list a short snippet regarding each game, listing what we “got” – whether that is hands-on time, a trailer, et cetera – our impressions based upon that, and then our thoughts.

Impressions are judged with a badge based upon the impression itself.

Green: game looks fantastic, polished and basically a guaranteed winner

Yellow: game looks great, but there’s a bit of uncertainty or something that didn’t quite work right

Orange: game is shaping up, but needs some work.

And now, let’s get down to business!   Day 2!
