Lionhead Project X: (most likely a RPG) – by Microsoft Games / Lionhead Studios – Release date poss TBA (Further information, refer end of interview) and more (information) incl Fable 3,4 and 5. Yes, there’s the experiment that I’m not allowed to talk about. [laughs] The idea when we started Lionhead was that, while we were working on a game or games, there were always going to be these experimental teams.  People at Lionhead could go onto these teams and do things, and then come off of them, but people would always be experimenting. Some of the things [they came up with] would be stuff that we’d actually use in games. Other stuff would be these sort of mad experiments.   One of those experiments – a fairly ambitious one – was started just after Black & White was finished in 2001. I was pretty interesting … it was going somewhere. Then, about 18 months ago, there was a real breakthrough.

LMNO (Working Title – Speilberge Project #1): (Action) – by EALA / Speilberge – Release date TBA. Game (announcements). Well, the real focus in the game is between the player and the non-player “partner.” It’s an action-adventure game that is set against the backdrop of a contemporary, epic story. It will show world-changing events through the eyes of a series of a very small number of people who are intimately connected. And that’s really the profile of a lot of Steven’s films. So that actually is a perfect construct for us to explore how we move people emotionally in games, and that’s really the kind of challenge that we’re going after. But what we’re thinking about is the non-player character is more of a peer. That will add a new level of complexity to the puzzles in the game. We think that’s a very important relationship level to reach to connect emotionally to the character.

LMNO (Working Title – Speilberge Project #2): (Action) – by EALA / Speilberge – Release date TBA. Game (announcements). Not a lt has been forthcoming on Spielbergs’ second mystery titles at the moment, other than it’s “in the works” with EALA. He’s been very quiet about what it is, other than it’s coming to the two majors, Xbox 360 and the PS3.

Lord of The Rings: White Council: (on hold – not cancelled) – by EA Games – Release date unknown atm (Further Information) and recent (’08 news on games future). White fate of the White Council is still iffy, EA have announced that a LOTR’s game is forthcoming in their ’09 fiscal year. Whether this is the White Council game, or an new,as yet named new title is anyones guess, but it is coming. It coould be a spin-off of the new Hobbit movingby Peter Jackson as well, as EA hold licences with PJ on that regard as well.

Lord Of Shadows (Fantasy Action/Adventure ) – by Konami / Mercury Steam – Release date 2010 (EU) TBA. Game (Information) and (more news) plus (video). At Konami’s press conference, the Japanese publisher gave attendees an update on many of its existing franchises, including Castlevania, Pro Evolution Soccer, Rock Revolution, Silent Hill, and even a reborn GTI Club. We thought that was all for the day’s news until the company announced that a brand-new IP was in the works: Lords of Shadow. Due out in 2010, the action-adventure game is being developed by Mercury Steam (Clive Barker’s Jericho, Scrapland) and was described as a “dark fairy tale with a European twist.” Konami also added that if you’re a fan of Mexican director Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth, and the upcoming The Hobbit), then “you’ll like this.”
