Perfect Dark Zero 2 – by MGS / Rare – Release date 2009 TBA. Game (Information and pics). WHile there’s no visuals on this game as yet, there is talk of it, and from an insider, the folowing. “My sources tell me “Rare” will be back and ready to take the reigns from the Chief himself. The game is probably coming along considerably well and is a step up in the genre’ of first person shooters, ……Joanna Dark is back in the “sequel” to the smash hit N64 game Perfect Dark. ALthough most parts of the story are under wraps, I managed to get hold of a couple of hints to the game. Joanna’s character has got significant changes, she is darker than usual to give the player a feeling of a twisted edge and the entire game has hints of grey surrounding att the character. The world is now based on a morality system, choices are going to have a huge impact on the gameplay, gving players a variety [of] branches in the storyline itself.

Soon as we do uneath something, you’ll be the first to know. ALL games take their time from conception to finally appearing on our shelves. Many thinlk bvecause they do not hear about a game that it has been canned or is not happening. Thing is, many games go through manyt stages before getting to a playable stage, whichis usually when we start hearing about them in earnest. So hang tight, it will happen, as to when, that’s anyones guess.

Prey 2 – by 3D Realm – Release date 2009 TBA. Game (Information) and ‘excellent” (recent ’08 news & interview) Scott Miller. “Miller: In the original Prey, the lead character, Tommy, was too reluctant, and didn’t realize his hero status until late in the game. So, in the new game we’re making him a hardened, take-charge character who’s learned fast from his previous experience, and ready to accept his status as a galactic savior. We’re definitely beefing up the combat—expect more enemies onscreen simultaneously versus 3-4 in the original—as well as the spirit powers. And while the original was too much of a corridor shooter, Prey 2 will have much more variety and wide-open areas: think CoD4 to get a good idea of what we’re shooting for in terms of open-world look and feel.”

• IMPORTANT NOTE: Readers, with regards to Project games, please remember that these often change schape and name over many years, often sit in developers back drawers and rest in the back of their collective minds until the “time is right”. Many a recent movie has been under colaboration for 5 – 10 years before you or I even see them. Same goes for games. Gears Of War was under “development” for almost 8 years as a pet project of Cliff Belenski, we really only heard about it in the later part of 2005, and it had already changed name 3-4 times prior to that.
So when you read about “projects” and other such games, do not always dismiss them because the info is old (not current day) or that the info is scant, just take it as the “possibility” that something is on the way for YOUR benefit – now – let’s get on with the show.

Project “Dimitri” [working title - aka Project X]: – by NGS/ Peter Molyneux – Release date 2009 TBA. Game (Information) and from within the Lionhead community comes (this). All we know about Project Dimitri to date is details we scored exclusively from Peter Molyneux in early 2005. At the time, he described a typically ambitious Lionhead venture: “It’s a game about… you. It allows anyone who plays the game to relive their life, their entire individual life”. Intrigued? So are we. via CVG:

Project Gotham Racing 5: (Racing) – by Microsoft Games / Bizarre Creation ?TBC – Release date 2009/10 TBA. Game (information). We all know it’s coming, but as to when and who will be at the helm (Turn10 has been hinted at recently ), but we sure as hell will keep you posted. But this from the game desinger himslef. “Project Gotham Racing 4 lead designer Ged Talbert mentions about the inevitable racer sequel that: “Obviously Gotham 4’s about to come out and we’re really happy with it, but behind the scenes we’ve already started ripping our game to pieces. We know where we failed in certain areas; for instance we wanted more trackside damage, more particles and smoke effects, a bigger damage system – and all of these things are being stripped out in a post-mortem. Next time it’s more on the detail. That’s what we think; we think the devil’s in the detail. Anyone can make a good looking game but the top games blow you away by being super-realistic, adding things that you didn’t expect and surprising you. I personally believe there’s a lot we can do by taking our vehicles we’ve already got and putting them into different, more interesting environments.
“

Project Inis 360: (Rythm based game?) – by Inis – Release date 2009 TBA. Game (Information) Yanos (confirms) games developement.. Project John McTiernan (untitled working title): (Action) – by / – Release date 2009/10 TBA. Game (information) while it is older information, these things do often sit for many years with film directors until they think it’s right, or not. But this suggested title has been thrown around for a few years now, bith in the film and game industry, so there’s a decent hope that he could lend his talents to a really well presented “This-Gen” game. Like many “Projects”, they can sit and wait for ages, unlike many gamers these days who seem to demand instant action and an almost games-on-tap mentality. We will keep close eyes on all “projects” so that we’ll be there to let you know when any game comes into reality.

Since its inception, Obsidian has only worked on a pair of sequels to BioWare hits–Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II and Neverwinter Nights 2. “We are excited to be working with a great publisher like Sega, as they are willing and excited to launch new and visionary IP on next generation consoles,” said Urquhart. “At Obsidian, our focus is to make exceptional games, and we see Sega as a true partner in achieving that goal for our next epic RPG.”

Here’s some interesting bits to gove you a slant on the “project”. “As described by a desription on Junction Point’s jobs page, the game will be different from others on the market. “For this project, we are NOT looking for people who do space marines or urban gang-bangers… we’re not looking for concept artists who specialize in elven archers or guys in black trenchcoats who wear sunglasses at night while wielding twin Uzis. And we’re not looking for people who can sketch believable inner city locations, World War II battleground scenes or incredible fantasy and SF landscapes. We’re looking for artists who can conceive, sketch (and maybe even model and animate) cartoon mice, cats and wabbits. We need help creating and fleshing out surreal Wagnerian opera sets and places like Balloonyland or Wackyland.
