Rockstar Games revealed the first screens and system specs of Grand Theft Auto V for PC as well as a new release date of 24 March 2015. They have apologised for the slight shift in the date as the game required a few extra weeks of testing and polish to make it as good as can be. The Perfect Crime?

I enjoy the finer things in life.

Whether it’s cruising down the open highway in a convertible, boating on a luxury yacht, shopping in high-end retail stores, golfing,  or senseless murder, Grand Theft Auto V allows me to enjoy all these favoured pastimes from the comfort of my couch.

Featuring more than just stealing cars, Rockstar Games have grown and molded the Grand Theft Auto series over time, into living, breathing worlds that aren’t just a hell of a lot of fun to cause mayhem in, they also poke fun at the society we live in today using their trademark dark humour and satirical nature.

501-1280It’s no secret that every Grand Theft Auto title is one of, if not the most anticipated title in most gamers’ eyes. You only need to hear that Rockstar made $1 billion in the first three days of GTAV‘s release, to understand how popular it is. Synonymous with controversy, the media love to create news about GTA, and people who never play games know of the series.

Our usual perpetrator of these articles, Nicholas, has been away and I decided to take over on this week’s [late] iteration of L.A. Noire goodness.

This week in our series we are going to have a look at the media currently available for gamers, rather than a crime-solving film or tv show.

This means showing off the various aspects on the actual game, along with several videos that not only show off the technical advantages, but the various gameplay aspects.

Just what do we expect as we play the role of Colin Phelps, beat cop, right through to Detective 1st Class in Downtown L.A.? Continue reading L.A. Noire Countdown: Investigating The Road To L.A. Noire: Week 5 – Media Blowout

I would like to take this moment and say that I’m learning as much along this journey as I trust you are. Along the journey thus far I’ve discovered several brilliant new movies, some extraordinary TV shows and various unknown genres, along with some of the most enriching examples of the entertainment medium out there.

While my suggestions aren’t always on the exact same topic as L.A. Noire‘s style and tone, I do try to find things with striking similarity, but also at the same time, things that are just as entertaining in the crime-solving field.

Lots more LA Noire greatness . . . .
